Asphalt shows a divers collection of physical and chemical caracteristics. The large variability of materials (bitumen origin, aggreate, etc) and conditions (temperature, mix proportions, foaming, etc) yield a complex chemical interaction landscape. Chemical composition of the bitumen is highly divers and colloid behavior at nano scale makes a huge opportunity for nano-chemical modification and hence modulate some of its properties.
These collection of primary bitumen additives intent to pursue this objective.
asphaltnit-CAL is a proprietary water based concentrated additive which mixed with water and regular hydrated lime (Ca(OH)2 produces stable suspensions of milk of lime overtime. Stable milk of lime are used between layout tack emulsions.
Appearance: White-suspension.
Doses: Dilution with 10 parts of water and only 3% of hydrated lime.
