My daughter swam for club team for years and when she was able to swim for high school it was a dramatic change in the best way possible. Coach Sam fosters a team approach to the sport. Everyone is expected to cheer on eachother, to celebrate the ups and to be supportive with the downs. My daughter is a multi athlete and high school swim season is her favorite by far. The supportive team dynamic coach Sam fosters, spills over to other aspects of a student athlete life making them a well rounded student, athlete and team mate. I personally will be very sad when my daughter graduates but that won't prevent me from showing up at future meets. I guess I'm just a swim mom for life.
We’re a family, we all are there for each other and I couldn’t ask for anything better
Our freshman year experience with the Watertown High School Girls Swim Team was excellent. We especially wish to thank the coaches for their time and dedication. We’re already looking forward to next year!
I am so blessed to have been a part of Watertown Swimming for 8+ years. I have come across some amazing coaches and swimmers, and I cherish my time here. I would recommend joining the team, it opens so many doors and connections. I am incredibly thankful for the relationships and friendships I've built through this program, and I hope people can experience the same trust and responsibility I encountered. - Caty
Loved seeing all girls come together and support each other.
High School Swim Team = FAMILY
Swim has been like a close-knit family for me for years. I have made some of the best relationships of my life here and also learned more about myself through the physical and mental sides of the sport. I couldn’t recommend it more. - Rae
I had the best time this season. I made so many new friends and I had so much fun getting better and working hard this season. It isn't even December yet and I already want it to be August again so I can experience the amazing atmosphere that comes with being on the swim team again. I miss everyone already and I am already trying to coordinate hanging out because the swim girls are some of my best friends. It was such an amazing experience and I can't wait for next year!
Our experience ever since son joined the WHS swim team his sophomore year has been very positive and character building. Coach Calliari is a super positive and supportive coach that is dedicated to helping swimmers reach their goals while also supporting them as they grow and mature into wonderful young men. We cannot say enough about how we appreciate the WHS swim experience. Best of all, all swimmers are welcome to join the team regardless of swim experience. Nobody ever sits on the bench! Swim is a fantastic sport as it helps develop individual and team fitness, goals, and spirit. We encourage everybody who has even a little swim interest to give it a try. They won't be sorry!
Everybody gave each other a feeling of belonging - Jack
It was great to see the impact that the coaches had on my daughter's strokes. We are blessed to have an amazing coaching staff.
Coaches were supportive of a first year swimmer. She was provided excellent opportunities to try new things and pushed outside of her comfort zone to achieve her best. It was a great year!
I learned a lot
WHS Swimming is a great program that is offered here. You can meet a lot of new friends that will eventually become your family. You will learn many lessons inside and outside of the pool that will take you a long way in life. We have a supportive staff as well, and they are always willing to help you with any situation. Overall, I believe that WHS Swimming is a great sport to be a part of! - Addie
I enjoyed the 2021-2022 girls swim season a lot. Swimming has made me become closer to many people throughout the years and I have made more friends due to this sport. This year, I was able to meet and befriend the freshmen and made many memories with them. The team dinners and memories are my favorite parts about swim season - Samantha
This swim season mirrored many of my past seasons. Started off strong and ended with injuries. Though I was injured I was still able to bond with the team and continue to grow my lifelong friendships. This year was a little extra special because it was my last as a high school swimmer. I also felt so loved when I announced I was continuing to swim in college! Though this year brought many challenges and opportunities to grow I will forever be thankful to everyone who supported me. - Raigan
I value my time with Watertown Swim, and I cherish the memories I’ve made with the team. I love the hardworking, no excuses atmosphere and the work that is accomplished in the season. - Caty
Swimming will forever be one of the best things I chose to do in Highschool. It has shown me how to work harder than I ever thought possible and to strive to be the best I can be. It has also opened my eyes to such a caring and loving community. I consider each and every person on the swim team family. - Wyatt
This was my first swim season in high school, so I didn’t have too much to base it off of, however, I knew it was a great one. I loved the sense of community amongst the team. All the athletes were constantly looking out for each other and supporting each other. It was the most connected with a team that I’ve felt in a sport. In terms of swimming, it was also a great experience. I’ve been swimming for a long time, so I half-expected my progress to not be as fast as it was. There was a lot of hard practices, and a lot of tired nights, but I drastically improved in almost every aspect. The coaches were also amazing, from organizing everything to keeping us focused so that we could get the most out of everything. - Julian
I appreciate how the swim program emphasizes personal growth for our student. It's a team sport but the girls compete against their own times as much as anyone else's times.
Swimming on the Watertown Women's team is a great experience to have. Meets with the other girls are fun, everyone cheers each other on and supports each other.
This past season was awesome. There was a great group of guys at the beginning and an even greater family at the end. Not only was the season a once in a lifetime experience, it is a cherished memory that i will look back on fondly. I would not change a thing about it. - Colt
I feel like I got much better and it was a great experience. I loved it! - Sam
It went well and I feel as if the entire team had a lot of fun. - Anthony
I really liked Coach Calliari's workouts & the general atmosphere of the team . - Lucy
It's my favorite season, best time of the year. My coach challenged me and taught me new things and opened me up to a whole new style of swimming. - Madeline
Swimming is a very fun sport. I've done it since I was a little girl. The high school team is great. - Liz
It was a great experience. We were pushed to our limits and that's what made us better as both individuals and as a whole. It was also great getting to experience it with people I knew and people I had just met that season - Harlee
The Watertown Swim team will be one of my fondest memories of high school. - Sean
It was a very fun experience to swim with this team. My team mates were fun to hang with and together with all of them it made swimming here more fun. The sets in practices are worth the effort and seeing your time drop over the season is a great feeling of accomplishment. - Shaun
To start off this little blurb, the season overall was great; the people, coaches, results, etc. The season would not have been as fun if it wasn't for the stories and inside jokes made. Essentially, each season ends with its own story. These stories are made up of everyone that is involved on the team and each season leaves something to remember and look back upon. Now touch on some of the favorite "activities" or "things" that go on throughout the season. Most of the team loves the Team Dinners, where there is always something that happens that is unforgettable. This is one of the key bonding points throughout the season, without the many dinners throughout the season, the season would not be the same. If you really want to know what it is like during these times, well join up of course! Another occurrence during the season are the bus rides. Usually on the ride back from a meet we have something called "Story Time". This is when there is always a group/s of people that share stories. This is a good (and usually very funny) time. Now swimming isn't a walk in the park. It calls for hard work and determination. Some loose sight of an end goal due to hard practices. A good way around it is to focus one step at a time, have fun and socialize during appropriate times in between sets. Number one key in this sport is to have fun, like anything else in life. This sport has taught me a lot and has pushed me the past 6 years or so of my life. It can teach you things you cannot imagine and has something special to offer to anyone. I encourage anyone, with or without prior experience, to try this rewarding sport. I close this little section of writing with one thing; Rice and Potatoes. - Brendan
I thought that it was incredibly fun. We were able to bond as a team, compete better altogether, and in general just have an amazing time. - Nathan
