Randi Gottschalk
Assistant Coach (Girls)
My name is Sam Calliari. I have undergraduate degrees in biology and life science education. I have a master's degree in educational design and technology. I live outside of Watertown in an old farmhouse. My husband and I have backyard chickens, a turtle, and a cat. We enjoy camping, kayaking, and traveling. I have competed in many triathlons, a duathlon, a few bike races, and two Tough Mudders.
I grew up in Fond du Lac and started competitively swimming when I was five. I swam year-round from age 5 to 17 while also playing soccer for multiple summer seasons. I swam one year for University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and soon after took up Masters Swimming for a short time. I then transitioned into triathlons where I have done very short races all the way through completing IRONMAN Madison in 2011.
I was the head coach of a club team in Boscobel, Wisconsin for three seasons. I have also been an assistant coach throughout my adulthood. I have helped train fellow triathletes and I still swim as often as I can. I am excited to be entering my ninth year coaching at WHS. Swimming is truly a passion of mine and getting swimmers (young and old) excited about the sport is my mission!
I am Randi Gottschalk and I previously coached both girls' and boys' seasons here in Watertown for 4 years (Nov 2014 - Feb 2019). I took a brief pause and have come back to my coaching roots! I also previously coached for WAT as well. Currently, I am a middle school special education teacher in the Sun Prairie Area School District. I live in the country outside of Cambridge, WI with my husband and our 3 dogs (I'm really working hard on getting a pig, some chickens, maybe a goat... but haven't gotten him to cave quite yet). I grew up in the water but didn't give in to my mom's suggestions of joining a swim team until high school. Once I was done with my first year I couldn't imagine any other "home" for me outside of the pool. I went on to swim through the entirety of high school in Wilmot, WI and moved to South Dakota State University to swim out there for college. I didn't finish my swimming career there as I moved majors and shortly after, schools, to come back to UW-Whitewater to finish my degree in Special Education. I have been a lifeguard and swim instructor for 17 years in various locations in Minnesota and Wisconsin and still consider the water as a home. I'm looking forward to the season to come!
My name is Noelle Else and I am very excited to be back in Watertown as a high school social studies teacher and the boys’ assistant swim coach!
I was a year-round swimmer on the Watertown Aquatic Team for seven years, and was on the girls’ varsity swim team during all four years of high school. Throughout high school, I worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor for Watertown Parks & Recreation. After graduating from WHS in 2016, I coached for WAT on and off for five years, while also giving private lessons to swimmers. During college, I was also a coach for the La Crosse Area YMCA swim team.
I graduated from UW-La Crosse in 2021 with a degree in history education and began my first job as a middle school social studies teacher in De Soto, WI. While there, I was also the head coach for the middle school track & field team.
I decided to move back home to be closer to family and friends, and accepted a social studies teaching position at WHS. I am very excited to not only be teaching at the school I graduated from, but also helping coach the team that gave me my best memories of high school! I hope to share my love for this sport and am looking forward to meeting the athletes!
