Hello Friends!
My name is Miss Brickman and I am the school counselor for fifth grade students at Dover Intermediate School. I earned an undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Bowling Green State University (Go Falcons!) and a School Counseling graduate degree from Cleveland State University. I began my school counseling career in Westlake at Holly Lane and Hilliard Elementary schools for two years and am currently starting my eleventh year at DIS.
I have the joy of working with students through classroom counseling lessons, small group counseling, and individual counseling. I also collaborate with families, teachers, administrators, and others in the community in order to best meet the needs of all students. Check out the Classroom Counseling page where you can get a sneak peek of expected lessons throughout the year.
I often eat lunch in the cafeteria with students or invite a small group of students to eat with me. This time allows me to build and foster relationships with a smaller group. You can also see me in the hallway lending a helping hand, popping into a classroom to join conversations or just to say "Hello!"
I look forward to a wonderful year here at DIS.
Miss Brickman
Hello Students & Parents,
This is my fifth year as a counselor at DIS. I am excited to meet and work with all of you! I will do all that I can to help you have an awesome year!
For the past 12 years, I have been a school counselor at Westlake High School. Previously, I was a middle school and high school counselor at Lorain City Schools. I earned my undergraduate and graduate degrees from John Carroll University.
My passion is to help students succeed and feel good about themselves. My goal is to have a positive/supportive relationship with all of my students. Please don't hesitate to reach out with questions, concerns, or needs.
Smile and Be Happy!
Mr. Campo
DIS utilizes a system known as "looping". This means that your child’s school counselor will remain the same throughout their time at DIS. Looping allows us to build strong, meaningful relationships with each child and family!
