FIVE enthusiastic individuals who came together to use integrated knowledge to empower the youth of tomorrow.
FOUR different countries, Jana (BELGIUM), Carmen (NETHERLANDS), Miira (FINLAND), Tauhira and Elgimine (SOUTH AFRICA) are on a journey to change the perspectives of those who believe that physical activity is not relevant.
Tauhira Donough is an aspiring young student with a determined nature to succeed and bring about happiness in people’s lives by making a difference. She is currently studying for a Bachelors of Education (B.Ed) degree at the University of the Western Cape (South Africa) and plans to further her studies in the future. She excels in academics taking home the Deans Merit Award every year since her enrolment.
Tauhira believes that with youth comes vibrancy and innovation and thus she is not afraid of venturing into new opportunities. She has gained much experience in the athletics field as she has grasped the title of a ASA level two coach as well as a qualified technical official. Her involvement in sport has enlightened her perspective on the world and she uses that to strengthen her determination and performance in academics as she trusts that the one benefits the other and vice versa. Tauhira acknowledges the success that comes from understanding the basics of a concept and progressing from there. She also has an immense love and interest for singing in which she would with no doubt say that it is one of her passions.
Tauhira has had a vast amount of experiences in a variety of fields in which she plans to use to better the lives of others by incorporating it into her teaching career, her coaching environment as well as her music passion.
Carmen Watson is an ambitious student. She is currently studying Physiotherapy at Avans University of Applied Sciences in the Nederlands.
Carmen Study and work hard by giving everything to get close to perfection as possible. She does not possesses a nine to five mentality and she works hard to get to where she wants to. Miss Watson is an attentive listener and very much empathetic, which will most definitely come in handy in her future discipline as a qualified Physiotherapist.
During Carmen's free time she likes to play Hockey or any other sport to keep herself fit. She is a qualified Hocky trainer, registered at the Dutch Hockey Association. Carmen believe that motivating young people is paramount. She want them to become the best of themselves.
3 years ago Jana changed her life goals to becoming a nurse. She is a very enthusiastic and happy person that likes to work and take care of other people. Meanwhile Jana is in her 3rd and last year and still as excited about the job as in the beginning. To broaden her experience and learn more, she made a big decision in September. She took the decision to take part in the CASO project! This will be the first time she’s going away for so long but it’s already worth the while. Her goal is to become a nurse where people can rely on and be a helping hand in their lives when they need it.
A little bit of the life in Belgium:
Jana is somebody who spends a lot of time with her friends, family and horse. She loves them a lot and they mean the world to her. Next to this, she also loves eating, you will find her every day trying to find or make something good to eat. To work al this food of she regularly enjoys sportive activities like walks, horseback riding, fitness, BBB,… this keeps her fit and happy because she uses sport to relieve her from all stress and to relax herself.

Miira is from Finland and she is 21 years old. She lives with her boyfriend in Riihimäki. Riihimäki is 60 km away from the capital city Helsinki.
She studies nursing at Lahti University of applied sciences. She is graduating in December 2019. She likes to help people as much as she can. She likes to watch soccer as she used to play it when she was younger.
Her family has two dogs which are very important to her. She also likes to spend time with her friends. Her family and friends makes her happy. She is a kind person even though she might be a little bit shy and quiet at first.
Elgimine Fourie is an ambitious and enthusiastic human being. He is a true passionate ambassador of education. Elgimine believes in honesty and is a quite reliant person. Mr Fourie has grown up and is still residing in a very well-known town named, Hermanus in the Western Cape, South Africa.
He is currently a final year student at the University of the Western Cape, studying BE.d Senior Phase.
Mr Fourie is a firm believer in empowerment. Empowering the youth to become change agents and true leaders for themselves and others. Elgimine has fulfilled a lot of leadership roles in and outside of his community. He is also loving, caring and outspoken.
