REFLECTIONS ON THE CHALLENGES THAT I HAVE EXPERIENCED IN THIS MODULE.

I have experienced a few challenges during this module, but they were not major ones that I wasn’t able to solve on my own.

One of the challenges was the fact that I was not able to attend all my face-to-face lectures due to travel reasons, therefor I had to do a lot of self-studying.

This module contains a lot of theory. And not really a practical example in the PowerPoint slides that we receive. We would have to wait until our tutorial to do one practical example for the entire week.

Another challenge is that we don’t receive memos for our tutorials as well as for our term tests. So, at the end, when I receive my marks, I would have no idea where I went wrong and what I would need to improve on.

Another challenge is that the resources that our tutor would use to discuss with us during our tutorial session, they are unable to send it to their students because they are not allowed to.

HOW WERE THESE CHALLENGES ADDRESSED

Due to the fact that I had to do a lot of self-study on certain topics that I still couldn’t grasp, I would then use YouTube videos to help with that, which, I must say, it certainly did. I also had two consultation with my lectures already in order to have certain questions that I had about about some topics answered.

With regards to practical examples challenge, I would then get more practical questions and examples off the internet as well as You tube to help me study.

Then about us not receiving memos, I would then have conversations with my fellow peers about a test or a quiz that we had and then we would exchange answers with each other. Although i would have liked to receive memos i guess this help to a certain extend.

With regards to the tutorial resources that we could not get I would then have to take physical notes in class and having to ask our tutor to repeat what she said a couple of time to ensure that we are writing the proper things down.

REFLECTION ON THE LESSONS THAT I HAVE LEARNT FROM THIS MODULE.

I have learnt a lot while doing this module this semester. It was difficult at first because everything was foreign to me until I really started to take note in class and attend my tutorial, everything started to make sense to me. Information systems is a topic that can really prepare you for the work place, this is one of the main reasons that I really want to do well in this module because I really believe that its going to benefit me in the future.

I have really enjoyed learning about project management as well as the roles and responsibilities of a project manager. This really caught my attention because in the future I would really like to become a manager. So learning about project management and how to manage a project as well as being a project manager, this is really going to help me as a person as well as prepare me to become a leader. I will be able to use the skills and knowledge that I learnt from this module in the workplace. This module will definitely give me an advantage when it comes to getting a job one day.

I have also learnt that you will not be spoon fed in this module. You have to work hard on your own in order to succeed in this module. And it is also important not to fall behind in this module because it is very difficult to catch up in the end. So therefor constantly work hard and adhere to dead lines.

REFLECTION ON THE SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES YOU HAVE LEARNED FROM THE MODULE

During this module I have learnt a lot. I have learnt about project management and the skills that is required of a project manager. So, if one day in the future I would be given the opportunity of becoming a project manager I would actually have an advantage when walking into the job because I already know and understand the roles and responsibilities of a project manager and I would be able to deal with certain situations comfortably because I would know what is required from me.

This module has also taught me about time management. Time management is really so important if you want to succeed in this module as well as in life. Once I’ve acquired the skill of time management in this module I have been doing so much better academically because I have been able to do everything that was required from me in each of my modules as well as prepare well in advance for tests and exams. This skill that I learnt during the course of this module will definitely be crucial for me in the future.
