I chose IFS 233 as one of my third-year modules because I did IFS in my first year and really enjoyed it. I actually got a distinction for it. So therefore, when I saw that IFS was one of the modules available for my third year, I chose it immediately. I obviously did do my pre reading with regards to the module, and it sounded interesting which is also another reason as to why I chose this module.

So what was my expectation for this module? Well, the first thing that came to mind was the fact that I wanted a distinction for this module because I know that I am capable of getting one if I just set my mind to it and work hard of course. I also expect my lecturers to provide me with the opportunity to learn and understand the concepts in this course in a way that I can understand and give adequate feedback on my abilities in order to apply this knowledge and achieve my goal.

So far I feel as if IFS 233 has been good to me. By this, I mean that I haven’t yet felt helpless in this module like I felt previously with some other modules because the IFS 233 lecturers are always willing to help with whatever is needed. And whatever question I may have I always seem to find the solution. IFS 233 also shows me that there is so much more to things that I would have never even thought of. IFS 233 is not just a module that prepares to for the workplace; it is also a module that prepares you for day-to-day life. I can also say that for every lecture that I attended, I learned something new every time.

 REFLECTIONS ON TUTORIALS

This semester for IFS 233 I have a new tutor. Not to be negative about my tutor from last semester I just like my tutor of this semester a bit more because I feel like she is more hands on when it come to helping and guiding us through whatever we need help with.

The tutorials for this module only started in the second week of the semester. All tutorials are compulsory to attend so we need to attend as much tutorials as possible. Every week we would get a tutorial to work through during our tutorial slot. Not all tutorials are for submission only some were. If I remember correctly we only submitted two tutorials so far for the semester. I received my marks for one of the tutorials that I submitted and I received 100% for it which I was really happy about because tutorials for this module counts 20% toward your year mark which is a lot. 

My tutor Falleng is very nice and is always willing to help with what ever is needed. She constantly checks up on our progress with regards to our assignments. I try to attend all my tutorials because I believe that attending tutorials will really help you succeed in this module.

REFLECTION ON LECTURES

Most of our lectures have been face-to-face this semester. The only time we would have an online lecture is when there is load shedding, like when there was the taxi strike and all classes were online. 

We had three different lecture for this module so far. All with there own learning style style. But if i had to choose my favourite lecturer it would be Ms Nuraan Davids-Latief.

Lectures for IFS 233 have really been interesting and helpful. I am able to immediately ask a question about something that I may not understand or I could just ask the lecturer to repeat him/her self again. This is why i enjoy face to face lectures
