As a volunteer at the UWC Nature Reserve, I contributed to various conservation and ecological restoration efforts. My responsibilities included potting, transplanting, weeding, and vegetation clearance to support habitat rehabilitation. I also assisted with erosion control measures to prevent soil degradation and promote sustainable land management. Additionally, I was involved in plant sales, compost and soil collection, and cleaning pots, ensuring the effective maintenance of the reserve’s nursery. This experience enhanced my practical knowledge of environmental conservation and deepened my commitment to sustainability and ecosystem preservation.
