Fundamentally, supervision is a process of professional learning and growth that allows people to evaluate and advance their ability, information, and abilities with the mutual agreement and regular assistance of another expert. We were supervised by the Department of Social Development. There were different supervisors in some of the organizations we visited. Nomvume Rhalarhala who signs the student and supervisor agreement for our practicum. Other supervisors helped sign the student workplace supervision report.
Mr. Siyabonga Sebiloane
Ms. Ynoma Cupido
Mr. Obrien Mthethwa.
The supervisors help us to reflect and give immediate feedback after the organizations has done with their presentation. Thus, supervision aids in my understanding development as well as the upkeep and improvement of my beneficial practices. It helps me correct oversights, grow from them, and not make the same mistakes twice, all of which can boost my confidence and enhance the quality of the services I provide.
Campus Supervision.
We were supervised every Wednesday by Woad Hanekom. The supervisor asked us to share what we learned and the challenges we had in each organization and the day of practicum. Our supervisor was a Social worker which made her not ask us about the development we gained as community development practitioners. The supervision helped me to improve my participation skills because we were sharing different information about what we learned. And also they improve my communication skills being not afraid to share my opinions and ideas.
