After you've completed the CTE Child Development Pathway and earned your Child Development Assistant permit you'll be eligible to work in a day care setting or a preschool.

There are 139,910 teaching assistants in California. The median income for teaching assistants is $41, 900.

In 2022 the nationwide median pay for a developmental psychologist was $85, 530.  This job is growing at a rate of 6% per year -- showing that demand is higher than most occupations.  This is a great option as you continue your education.
