Week of 4/13/2026
Week TWO OF THREE WEEK TAPER (FOR JV AND SOME VARSITY)
Practice requirements:
Please read your body and adjust the amount of sprinting and recovery
swimming you need. If you have done all the work you are in shape
This weeks focus:
1. Four fly kicks off each wall.
2. No breathing into or off of turns and the finish.
Quality is the main focus while completing sets as written. If a swimmer needs
more recovery to achieve the goals of each set then the swimmer and or coach need to communicate to each other. We are now focusing on speed and power. If you have done all the work, then you are in aerobic shape. Trust you have done enough and only you are the judge.
What We're Trying to Accomplish this Week:
1. Stroke count sets.
2. Racing and overspeed work.
3. Alternate upper and lower body with in sets or by sets.
4. Turns, starts(relay) and finish work.
5. Paddle sets.
6. Varied Tarzan work
7. Variable speed work.
8. Kicking and Race Race are specific each day during this phase of the season.
