Field Day information. RESCHEDULES for May 16
Field Day Schedule:
May 16th
First & Second Grades: 8:20 am - 11:45 pm
Kinder, Third, & Fourth Grades: 12 pm - 3:00 pm
Fifth Grade: 8:20 am - 3:00 pm to help Coach B run the show!
What to Wear:
ALL students should come to school dressed in Field Day attire. Shirts will be delivered during school on 4-30-2025.
TENNIS SHOES are REQUIRED—there is running in every game and there will be muddy areas from the rain, so OLD tennis shoes are best!
Girls: Field Day T-shirt or shirt of the same color, PE shorts or any shorts made of fabric that can dry quickly. Many girls prefer to wear a one-piece swim suit underneath their tops & bottoms for the water slide. Shorts stay on the entire day and the t-shirt may only be removed for the waterslide if the student has on a one piece swimsuit.
Boys: Field Day T-shirt/PE shirt, PE shorts/shorts that dry quickly OR bathing suit shorts.
What to Bring:
Please have at least one towel to use after water slide & games with water. The morning water stations can be chilly! Students may need 2 towels or even a robe/cover up.
It’s supposed to be a sunny day—some kiddos like to have a hat, sunglasses & even goggles and water shoes for the water slide (water shoes can only be worn during water slides)!
Sunscreen and bug spray are also important to be applied at home. Teachers are NOT allowed to apply lotions or sprays on students. Students can reapply themselves at school if needed.
A small bag to carry all the above items in as your student participates is helpful.
1st and 2nd graders must bring a DRY change of clothes/spirit wear/uniform for AFTER Field Day festivities, including top, bottoms, socks, undies & maybe even shoes! It’s also a good idea to send a grocery sack for wet clothes!
KONA ICE IS COMING! If your student would like to have a snow cone with their class, please send $3 to your child’s homeroom teacher next week. We are pre-paying for the snow cones so the money doesn’t get sticky. Kona Ice will also be available for parents/cheering section to purchase separately as well.
Please make sure your student comes to school with a WATER BOTTLE labeled clearly with their name!!!
If you have any additional questions about Field Day, feel free to contact Coach B at page.burkhalter.mytesa.org.

Welcome Back!
Mrs. Ogden, Miss Barter, and Ms. Curry are so excited about meeting the incoming 3rd graders and starting school next week! We thought this would be a good time to introduce ourselves and let you know a little bit about what to expect this year. Watch for a Remind message on Friday about our first newsletter of the year!
Mrs. Ogden teaches Science and Social Studies. Both classes will be developing writing responses to text based questions throughout the year. For social studies, the students will be learning about communities, founding fathers, Cultural Heritage, geography, environment, government, and economics. In Science, the students will be learning matter, force, motion, energy, earth, space, and ecosystems.
Ms. Curry teaches English Language Arts and Reading. Ms. Curry is passionate about teaching Language Arts! We will grow as readers, writers, and critical thinkers. We are proud to recognize that our 3rd grade readers experienced the highest growth of the entire school. We are so proud of our learners here!
Ms. Barter teaches Math, the students this year will be expanding their knowledge on Arrays, multiplication, division, 2-D and 3-D shapes, reading time, area, fractions, rounding, comparing numbers, place value, and more! We as a class will also be incorporating and developing writing skills through word problems and well-rounded responses.
