Beginner Band
Mrs.Tegeler & Mrs. Loggins, Directors
Students who wish to learn an instrument and be a part of the band are in the Beginner Band. Classes are divided by like-instruments to allow for more individual instruction. Focus will be placed on development of basic skills needed to be successful on their instrument. Students will perform at the Beginner Winter Recital as well as the Spring Concert. Beginners also have the opportunity to travel to a festival performance if they meet the requirements described in the band handbook.

Junior High Concert Band

The Concert Band is made up of 7th and 8th graders who have successfully completed a full year of beginning band. Members of this ensemble are invited to audition for the All-Region Band in the fall and Solo & Ensemble Contest in the spring. Additionally, this ensemble will also perform at the Fall Concert, Fine Arts Holiday Showcase, the Spring Concert. Students will also have the opportunity to travel to a festival performance if they meet the requirements described in the band handbook.
Junior High Symphonic Band

The symphonic band is made up of 7th and 8th graders who have successfully completed a full year of beginning band. Members of this ensemble are required to perform at pep rallies, The Sweeny Junior High Veterans Day Program, High School Band Night, audition for the All-Region Band, participate in Solo & Ensemble Contest, and perform at the UIL Concert & Sight-reading Evaluation. Additionally, this ensemble will also perform at the Fall Concert, Fine Arts Holiday Showcase, the Spring Concert. Students will also have the opportunity to travel to a festival performance if they meet the requirements described in the band handbook.
High School Band

The high school band is made up of 9th - 12th graders who have successfully completed at least two consecutive years of band at a Junior High campus. Members of this ensemble are required to perform at pep rallies, High School football games, audition for the All-Region Band, participate in Solo & Ensemble Contest, and perform at the UIL Concert & Sight-reading Evaluation. Additionally, this ensemble will also perform at the Fall Concert, Fine Arts Holiday Showcase, the Spring Concert. Students will also have the opportunity to travel to a festival performance if they meet the requirements described in the band handbook.
