This year my students will explore reading on a much deeper level than in previous years.  While your child has been learning to read, this year we will focus more on reading to learn.  Our scholars will be expected to use their reading skills to dive deeper into analyzing text and thinking critically to understand what they read.

We will work on all areas of reading covering the standards for foundational skills, reading (literature and informational), communication, and vocabulary.  Along with reading, we will be writing a great deal this year.  As the year progresses, we will revisit standards previously covered to give our students many opportunities to attain mastery.
