Hello everyone,
Please read below about how to earn community service hours.
Community Service:
8th graders: your hours are due by May 1st of this school year. Please let me know if you need an extension.
7th graders: you have until May 1st of your 8th grade year to complete your hours.
An adult (not your parent) that has supervised your service time must sign off on the hours that you have completed during that service.
Ideas of how to earn community service hours:
Any neighborhood/community chore that involves assisting your neighbors/community. For example, weeding someone's garden, washing cars, cleaning windows, helping take out trash cans, etc. If you are doing this for a neighbor, please have the adult neighbor sign for your hours to be recognized.
Tutoring peers or younger students in the community.
Write positive notes to people living in nursing homes. Make sure you call the nursing home first and follow proper protocol.
Clean up your local neighborhood by picking up trash.
Check out church, food banks, shelter websites for volunteer opportunities.
Get creative and email me with any other ideas.
Parents can not sign off on your hours.
Scan or take a picture of your service hour log and email it to me. See email below.
