Education Specialist/Classroom Teacher
I graduated from Cal State University of Fullerton with my Bachelors of Science in Child and Adolescent Development. I remained at CSUF where I received my Moderate/Severe Teaching Credential and Master Degree in Special Education. I have been working in Special Education for 15 years. This will be my 8th year teaching in a Mod/Severe Autism Specific classroom. In addition, I will be working with our school as a member of the Leadership Team and as an Admin Designee for IEP meetings. This year I have the pleasure of hosting a student teacher in our room. I will be taking on the role of Master Teacher to our Student Teacher, Mary Ellis, who will be assisting in our classroom. We are happy to have her helping us.
Some of my hobbies include going for nature walks, gardening or anything plant related, traveling with my husband (who also is a Special Education Teacher), hanging out with our dog and teaching/practicing yoga. I consider myself to be a lifelong learner with a passion for teaching and gaining new information. Last year I was the Distance Learning Instructor due to health concerns. I continue to take COVID protocols very seriously, and I am excited to be incorporating digital materials into our classroom. I have faith it is going to be a great year of learning and I can't wait to meet all of my new families!
