FAQ:
Is this an excused absence?
Yes! Being selected as part of WCS Honor Choir is a huge honor that will be publicized throughout the district, so your schools know to excuse your absence.
How do I get to the venue?
Buses will not be provided; we recommend that, similarly to Mid-State and All-State, you arrange carpools with your friends. Make sure to allocate plenty of time for traffic in your planning! At the conclusion of the concert, parents can pick up students.
What is the concert attire?
On Monday, we ask that all students wear jeans and a school choir t-shirt; for performance students will wear white on top and black on bottom.
What should I bring to this event?
We ask that all students bring a pencil and a black 1-inch binder with their sheet music. See question above for concert attire, and see below for information on food.
Are parents/families invited to the Monday evening concert?
Yes! Parents and families are encouraged to come out to the Friday concert; there are no tickets and admission is free.
Will food be provided?
No. Students should eat breakfast on their own before the Friday morning rehearsal, and bring a packed lunch to eat on Friday during lunch time. Due to WCS District Safety policies, students will not be allowed to leave the venue to pick up lunch, so it is essential they pack a lunch. The Friday concerts will be over by about 6pm, before dinner time. Students are allowed to bring nut-free snacks for rehearsal breaks, and of course should bring a water bottle.
