السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته

I hope you and your families had a wonderful and restful summer! It is with great excitement and gratitude that I welcome you to the 2026–2027 school year. My name is Idil Mohamud, and I am truly honoured to have the opportunity to be your child’s Grade 3 teacher this year, insha’Allah.

A little about me: I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics and have completed additional training in teaching English, as well as a TEFL certification. I have always had a passion for learning, education, and working with children, and I am very excited to begin this new chapter of my journey at Ottawa Islamic School. As this is my first year teaching at the school, I am especially looking forward to getting to know each of my students, learning about their individual strengths and interests, and creating a classroom where every child feels welcomed, supported, and encouraged to do their best.

My goal is for our classroom to be a place where students can grow academically, socially, and personally. I believe that every child has unique abilities and the potential to succeed. Throughout the year, I hope to help my students become confident learners while also encouraging the values we strive to nurture in an Islamic environment—kindness, respect, responsibility, patience, honesty, and good character.

I also believe that learning is strongest when teachers and families work together. As parents and guardians, you know your children best, and I greatly value your communication, support, and involvement throughout the school year. I hope we can build a positive partnership that allows us to support your child both in their learning and in their personal growth.

May Allah bless our students with beneficial knowledge, confidence, and success throughout the year. Ameen.

جزاك الله خيرا

Kind Regards,
Sr. Idil
