Week 1 Tuesday, Sep.2
Since this was the first class, I discussed the students with course outline and classroom rules.
Wednesday , Sept. 3In this class students were lectured on the following topics:Motion, Distance, Displacement, scalar and vector quantities. Examples were given and related problems were analyzed and solved.Class work page 13 text-book
Thursday, Sep.4In this class students were lectured on the following topics:Speed, average speed, velocity and average velocity. Examples were given and related problems were analyzed and solved.Class work on practice questions page 18
Week 2Monday Sept. 8In this class students will learn the following topics:Uniform and non-uniform velocity.Position- time graphAverage accelerationVelocity- time graphClass work page 20 text-bookPractice questions on page 24
Tuesday, Sept.9Lecture on how to determine displacement from a velocity-time graph, also Instantaneous and average velocity will be discussed. Examples will be given and related problems will be analyzed and solved.Home work page 30 text-book
Wednesday Sept.10In this class Students will learn about key equations for motion with uniform acceleration. These equations involve the variables for displacement, initial velocity, final velocity, acceleration and the time interval. Students are allowed formula sheet in order to choose which equations to use based on the given and required variables on the problem. Examples will be analyzed and solved.Home work Practice page 39
Thursday Sept. 11Continuation of the previous class to solve more problems related to the five key equations for motion with uniform acceleration. Class work/home work page 43
Week 3Monday Sept. 15Review of motion in one dimension chapter 1 textbook. In groups students will work on chapter review questions on pages 51-53 textbook.Tuesday Sept. 16In this class I will lecture on motion in two dimensions. Using scale diagram, we can add displacement vectors. Also using Pythagorean method and component method vectors can be added. Examples related will be thoroughly analyzed and solved. Class work questions 1 and 2 page 64 ,Home work 1-9 page 65 .Wednesday Sept. 17More review on motion in two dimensions in preparation for a test on Thursday.
Thursday Sept. 18
Students will write a test on motion in one dimension.
Monday Sept. 22In this class we will continue with motion in two dimensions to solve more problems in class.Class work questions 1 and 2 page 71. home work page 75 textbook.
Tuesday Sept. 23Lecture on Projectile Motion. Class work practice questions 1 and 2 page 78 .
Wednesday Sept.25In this class we will continue with projectile motion to solve more problems.Class work/home work page 81 textbook.
Thursday Sept. 26Review of motion in two dimensions. Quiz on projectile motion.
