Tea Table is a discussion-styled, community-building enrichment program for the youth and by the youth. Our drop-in conversations center around community engagement, mental health, identity, work-life balance, and many others that will inspire and develop modern-day teens. Inviting students from Grades 8 to 12, it is held at the Bolton Public Library, with one 90-minute meeting a month (October-April). Each monthly session will be focused on one topic, involving an equal share of round-table discussion and a hands-on activity. As structured as it may seem, we encourage a homey, cozy, grab-your-cup-of-tea type of atmosphere. By all means, please join us for our next session! We don't bite- except into the snacks we'll be sharing ;D
The primary goals of this program are to...
Replenish the feeling of community among the three Nashoba towns, especially since it had slightly declined after the pandemic.
Introduce teens to ideas and opportunities to benefit themselves and their community
Bridge the gaps between different age groups and learn from each other along the way
When you imagine a group of people having a meaningful or insightful conversation between each other but still within a casual setting, you may think of them in a café having a cup of coffee, or perhaps, tea. The tea that we make and sip in the beginning of every meeting is representative of the homey ambience that defines Tea Table. It's a message that "Hey, we can laugh and make jokes as we make tea together, but when we sit down, we can also discuss deep, worthwhile topics that are seldom surfaced." Tea Table is a place of friendship, growth, respect, and relatability.
To promote a cozy atmosphere, we listen to calm jazz while we chat and do activities. Click the image to check the playlist out! If you have any other music recommendations (calm genres please), feel free to request them here!
