Randy Roden

2020 will mark the 30th year Coach Roden has been coaching basketball. He started at Wind River High School in Pavillion, then moved on to Standley Lake High School in Denver before becoming the head volleyball coach at Natrona County High School. In 1999 Coach Roden also became the head boys basketball coach at NCHS. In 2012, Coach Roden moved to KWHS to become the head boys basketball coach.

Nick Landess

Junior Varsity/Varsity Asst. Coach

Nick is a 2006 graduate of Natrona County High School, and a former player for Coach Roden. Nick was a standout kicker at NCHS and later attended the University Of Wyoming as a punter/place kicker before injuries forced him out of the sport. Nick graduated from the University Of Wyoming where he received a degree in physical education. Nick did his student teaching here in the district.

Bryan Coventry

Sophomore/Varsity Asst. Coach

Bryan Coventry is a 1989 graduate of the University of Wyoming where he competed for the Cowboy Track and Field team. Coventry coached the Kelly Walsh Sophomore Basketball team for seven years and the Junior Varsity team for three years from 1996-2006 for two head coaches--Mike Ragan and his successor Kreg Adams. He has also served as an assistant track coach at KW since 1996, and is the current KW Cross Country head coach. Coventry and his wife Shelly have two children, Madison and Sage

Arthur Steward

Varsity Assistant Coach

Art is a 2007 graduate of Natrona County High School, and a former player for Coach Roden. Arthur was a standout basketball player at NC, and in the state of Wyoming. Arthur played collegiately at Casper College and the University of Montana. Arthur is currently employed at Kimray Inc. He is also the head coach of Wyoming Power AAU Basketball.

Shawn Gillum

Freshman A/Varsity Asst. Coach

Coach Gillum has been coaching basketball in NCSD#1 for 25 years. He started at East Junior High in 1995, went to Dean Morgan Junior High in 2002, was with the NCHS Fillies in 2003-2007, was with the Kelly Walsh Trojans in 2007-2009, and was the head coach with the NCHS Mustangs in 2009-2019, where he won two state championships. He has also coached volleyball, cross country and tennis during his time in NCSD#1. He is a proud graduate of Kelly Walsh High School.

Isaac Kalinowski

Freshman B/Varsity Asst. Coach

Isaac was a standout athlete at NCHS in the 90’s. He later went on to play football at Chadron State College. He returned to Casper to coach and teach at NCHS. He has been a football coach, tennis coach and basketball coach at both NCHS, and at KWHS. He currently teaches art at KWHS.

Jared Nicholls

So/JV/Varsity Asst. Coach

Jared is new to teaching. He has spent the past few years in the Oil & Gas Industry. We are lucky that COVID forced his hand and he had the chance to finish student teaching. We took advantage of the situation and were able to secure his passion for the game. He joins the staff after coaching several of our youth programs over the past few years. He is a great addition to our program.
