For the third time in the last four games in this rivalry, the Mustang defense swarmed over the Trojans and limited them to just one point in a quarter. This time, NC started off with 18-1 first quarter lead and never looked back in trouncing the Trojans. Mamot was the only Trojan in doubles with 11 points.. For NC 11 players scored with Bryan Maxwell, Trendal Green, and Andy Anderson leading the way with 15 , 14 ,and 11 points each.

A young Mustang team battled KW to a 15-15 half time score playing great defense. Although freshman Jacque Finn scored 25, it was not enough to overcome the Trojans.

The Mustangs fall again to the Trojans. Jacque Finn and Griff McKay lead NC with 14 and 12. Mark Curry lead all scores with 24.
1996-1997

The Mustangs found it hard to score as Jacque Finn had 15 and John Daniels 13. KW was lead by Ryan Schaefer.
NC-58 KW-46
Balanced scoring and pressure defense led the Mustangs to a Peach Basket Classic victory as Griff McKay lead the Mustangs with 13 while John Daniels added 10, Steve Dalgarno's 10. Jacque Finn 10, Joe Toohey 8, and Jeremy Bieber 8. This victory started the longest win streak in Peach Basket Classic history.

KW turned the tables on the Mustangs and used balanced scoring and defense to hold down the Mustangs. Griff McKay lead NC with 13.
1997-1998

The Trojans were lead by Ryan Schaeffer’s 26. While Jacque Finn added 19 it was not enough to handle KW.

In on the highest scoring “Peach Basket Classics”, or any NC-KW game, the Mustangs had balanced scoring and a game high 34 from Jacque Finn to win their second straight classic. Joe Toohey chipped in 18 and Steve Dalgarno added 15 for the Mustangs. Clint Jackson lead KW with 20.
1998-1999
NC 79 KW 47
The Mustangs got off to a very fast start lead by Jacque Finn and Eric Westling. The Mustangs dominated play the entire game. Finn scored a game high 35, and Westling had 15.
NC 58 KW 49
The Mustangs won their third straight Peach Basket Classic over the Trojans. Strong defense and the offensive punch of Jacque Finn proved to be too much for the Trojans. Finn lead all scorers with 31, while Micheal Murphy added 10.
NC 74 KW 54
In a Regional Tournament game the Mustangs defeated KW for the third straight time this year. Solid defense and overall dominating play by Jacque Finn were the difference. Eric Westling again scored 15 blue collar points.
1999-2000
NC 42 KW 44
In a very physical defensive battle the Mustangs missed two late field goal attempts and the Trojans hung on for the victory. Freshman Trei Steward lead the Mustangs with 10.
NC 65 KW 51
In the Peach Basket Classic the Mustangs had balanced scoring to defeat the Trojans for a record 4th straight year. The Mustangs would go undefeated in the remaining conference games and win the conference title. Johnnie Young dominated play and scored 13, while Jason Rich had 12, Micheal Murphy 8, John Blomstrom 8, and freshman Trei Steward 8.

In the regional semi-final game the Mustangs again had balanced scoring to defeat the Trojans. John Blomstrom lead the assault with 18, Jason Rich added 13, Jesse Brownell 10, Trei Steward 9 and Johnnie Young 8.
2000-2001
NC 45 KW 58
Randy Roden is hired as the new coach for the Mustangs. What would be the first of three match-ups between the two Casper schools turned out a victory for Kelly Walsh. The game, which was played in front of a rowdy crowd at Casper College, looked similar to previous opening games between NC and KW. KW took early control and never gave in. NC made a third quarter run, but could not overtake the lead. In the end Paul McVey scored 16 points, while Micah Cloward and Robbie Phillips both scored 11 points to lead KW to a big conference win. For NC, John Blomstrom scored 14 points, Trei Steward added 12 points and Jason Rich had 10 points in the losing cause.
NC 61 KW 56
In this game, NC and KW battled for the bragging rights to the Peachbasket Trophy. The game never got out of control as neither team lead by more than four points until the final buzzer. This was a classic match up between two of the better teams in the 4A classification. In the end, John Blomstrom (16 points), Jason Rich (14 points) and Trei Steward (13 points) led the Mustangs to victory. For KW, Micah Cloward scored 17 points, while Paul McVey and Robbie Phillips contributed 11 and 8 points respectively.
NC 63 KW 72
In a North Regional Semi Final game the Trojans came out and dominated the Mustangs and took early control. However, NC battled back to a 30-29 halftime deficit. The second half started as the first did as KW jumped to an early lead. The Trojans would not give in and held on to win by nine points in what would be the most physical contest of the tournament. Kelly Walsh was paced again by their trio of consistent scorers, Micah Cloward, Robbie Phillips and Paul McVey. Natrona got balanced scoring from John Blomstrom, Trei Steward and Jason Rich, but just not enough of it to win the game.
2001-2002
NC 54 KW 46
In the first of four meetings, Natrona was able to withstand a furious start by KW and come from behind to take the win. The game was sealed by an alley oop pass from Dan Russell to Trei Steward in the closing seconds of the game. Natrona was lead in a balanced scoring attack by Trei Steward with 19 points, Joe Ferguson and Kyle McIntosh followed with 7 points each. Curt Downing led the Trojans with 17 points.
NC 32 KW 36
In the Peachbasket Game, the clock was turned by to a time when scoring was a chore. The game was sluggish by both teams. Shots did not fall and the play was physical. The Mustangs were outscored by two in the first half and by four in the second half giving the Trojans a hard fought victory. Trei Steward led the scoring effort with 11 points for the Mustangs. KW’s Curt Downing had 21 points in the win.
NC 55 KW 45
In an improbable Regional Championship matchup, the Mustangs were able to slow down KW’s Ross Schaeffer and Curt Downing long enough to seal the win. The Mustangs were lead in scoring by Andy St. John (15 points), Jordan Kalinowski (12 points) and Will Reese with 12 points. KW was lead again by Schaeffer’s 19 points.
NC 58 KW 41
In the last game of the season the two Casper high schools met in the third place game at the state tournament. The Mustang’s dominated this game from start to finish. Chase Mangus led all scorers with 22 points, while Dan Russell contributed 8 points. KW was led by Curt Downing’s 18 points.
2002-2003
NC 56 KW 54 Overtime
In this game the Mustangs jumped out to a quick lead, but the Trojans battled back to tie the game before halftime. The contest was a struggle the rest of the way. Jon Boyer hit an open three pointer at the buzzer to send the game into overtime. NC outscored KW 5-3 in the extra period to pull out the win. This game started out furiously as the Mustangs claimed a ten point lead midway through the first quarter. But the Trojans steadily got back into the game and made it close the entire way. At the buzzer Scott Cogdill denied Ross Schaeffer’s attempt to tie the game. Ross Schaeffer led KW with 21 points and Jason Boe added 15. For Natrona Trei Steward led the way with 19 points, Colter Adams added 16 and Will Reese scored 10 in the win.
2003-2004
The Mustangs and Trojans met three times this season. As always, they proved to be entertaining contests that were decided late in the game.

In the championship of the Oil City Classic tournament in December the two Casper schools met in a non-conference game. The game was dominated by Natrona as they held the hot shooting Trojans in check from the 3 pt. line while showing poise and patience offensively in beating the smaller and younger crosstown squad.

The second meeting was a conference game held at Casper College. This game proved much closer than the previous meeting in December. The game was close throughout and decided late in the fourth quarter with Natrona pulling it out down the stretch.

In the peachbasket game Natrona held off a furious rally to defeat Kelly Walsh for the third and final time this season. Will Reese led all scorers with a 30 point outburst. Eric Platt led Kelly Walsh with 18 points.
2004-2005
In what has become a rarity in recent times the Trojans and Mustangs only met twice during this season. Both games were hard fought and went down to the wire. The Trojans captured the first meeting at Casper College, while the Mustangs won the Peachbasket Game at the Events Center.

This game was a physical contest in which both teams took control at various times throughout the game. Eric Platt scored the final 11 Kelly Walsh points, including a miraculous 4 point play to put the Trojans up for good with seconds to play.

Natrona opened up an early lead and kept it throughout as both teams struggled offensively in a very physical contest. Kelly Walsh’s Eric Platt was held to 8 points in the game. Chris Loe led Natrona with 15 points, while Nick Landess (8) and Arthur Steward (11) contributed in the scoring effort.
2005-2006
This season the match up between cross town rivals included the two regular season games and one post season game at the regional tournament. The Mustangs won two of the three meetings.
Natrona 44 Kelly Walsh 47
This was a typical first conference match up between Kelly and Natrona. The game was a defensive struggle that was marred with physical play. The Trojans led throughout the contest, but the Mustangs came fighting back to tie the game in regulation at 40 apiece. In overtime, Eric Platt scored all seven of Kelly Walsh’s points to pull out the win. Natrona was led by Nick Landess’s 16 points, while Eric McDonald (9), Dusty Harvard (8) and Caleb Dietz (7) contributed to the effort. Eric Platt led KW with 20 points and Brian Ridgeway added 11.

In the Peachbasket Game, the Trojans led 8-7 after one quarter, but that would be the last lead for them as Natrona pulled ahead at each break and hung on to win the game. Natrona was led by Arthur Steward’s 19 points. Caleb Dietz added 12 for the Mustangs. The Trojans were once again led by Eric Platt’s 22 points.

In the regional semi final the Mustangs dominated from the opening tip and raced out to a 22-13 first quarter lead. The game was never in question as Caleb Dietz (21 points) and Arthur Steward (15 points) led the way for the Mustangs. Once again, Eric Platt led the way for the Trojans with 21 points.
2006-2007
This was a rare season in which the Mustangs and Trojans only played twice. Both matchups went to the Mustangs.
Natrona 49 Kelly Walsh 30
This game started very slowly as the Trojans zoned the Mustangs and slowed the pace of the game. At the end of one quarter the score was NC 7, KW 5. But, the Mustangs exploded in the second quarter and outscored the Trojans 15-2. The Trojans never recovered as NC won round 1. The balanced Mustangs were lead by Michael Dietz and Tom Earl with 12 points each. Arthur Steward added 10 more. Brian Ridgeway lead the Trojans with 11 points.

The Peachbasket affair saw almost the exact format as the first game as the Mustangs and Trojans battled to a virtual first quarter tie, and once again, the Mustangs exploded with a second quarter run of 23-8 to put the game out of reach the rest of the way. Arthur Steward lead all scorers with 25 points. Mario Harris added 11 points and Michael Dietz added 10 points. Brian Ridgeway and Matt Nolan each scored 10 for the Trojans.
2007-2008
For the second straight season the Mustangs and Trojans only played their two conference games, but no other games against each other. Both contests went to a strong Natrona team that overwhelmed a much younger and more inexperienced Trojan team.

The Mustangs jumped out to a 15-5 first quarter lead and never looked back. Natrona’s defense was particularly stingy as it allowed double figure scoring only in the fourth quarter. Tom Earl led the Mustangs with 18 points. Michael Dietz added 11 points and 6 rebounds, while Mario Harris contributed to the cause with 8 points and 7 rebounds. Kobi Eskew had 11 points for KW.
Natrona 51 Kelly Walsh 24
Again, the Mustangs used a strong opening quarter to put the Trojans away. Natrona opened with a 19-4 run in the first half to put the game out of reach for good. The leading scorer for the Trojans (Matt Nolan) only managed 6 points on the night. Meanwhile, Tom Earl once again led the Mustangs with 17 points. Michael Dietz added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 steals on the night. Max Gustafson came off the Mustang bench to score 8 points and get 7 rebounds.
2008-2009
In this season the Mustangs and Trojans played four times. Two in the regular conference season, one in the Regional Championship and finally in the State Championship. The Mustangs dominated the season series by winning all four match ups by an average margin of 27.5 points per game.

The Mustangs jumped out to a 32-12 halftime lead and continued the dominance in the second half. The Trojans never scored in double figures in any quarter and were out shot 71-33 in the contest. The Mustangs were led by Michael Dietz (17 pts, 12 reb), Tom Earl (14 pts, 14 reb) and Mario Harris (11 pts, 5 reb). Kelly Walsh was led in scoring by Lucas Nolan who had 9 points.

In this contest the Trojans jumped out early and led 12-10 at the quarter, but Natrona responded with a 26-8 scoring outburst in the second to pull away for good. Tom Earl led the Mustangs with 25 points, Michael Dietz added 19 points and 9 rebounds. Lucas Nolan led the Trojan again with 14 points.

This was the Regional Championship game played at NCHS. This contest was much closer this time around as the Trojans handled the Natrona press and hung around. Again, the Mustangs had a huge second quarter to pull away for good. Tom Earl had 18 points and 7 rebounds for the Mustangs. Zach Powell added 10 points.

In the State Championship game the Mustangs used a strong third quarter to pull away from the Trojans. Tom Earl lead the Mustangs with 22 points. Michael Dietz added 15 points and 8 rebounds.
2009-2010
Shawn Gillum is hired as the new coach of the Mustangs. In the first of two seasons that the Mustangs and the Trojans were in different conferences, the teams only played each other once, and the game was at Casper College. The Mustangs prevailed 69-58. Taylor Millay led the Mustangs with 11 points and Mitch Carpenter pitched in with 10 points and 7 steals. Travis Hayden pitched in with 6 rebounds and 8 points, while Kyle Vinich pulled down 5 rebounds and scored 9 points. Cole Montgomery had 6 assists. The Trojans were led by Lucas Nolan with 32 points and 7 rebounds.
2010-2011
For the second year in a row, the Mustangs and Trojans only met one time, and it was at Casper College. The Mustangs outscored the Trojans 72-41 and out-rebounded them 32-15. The Mustangs were 8/16 from the 3 point line and stole the ball 15 times from the Trojans. Jordan Dick scored 12 points on 4/6 shooting behind the arc, pulled down 6 rebounds, and had 3 steals - all team highs. Kyle Vinich and Cole Montgomery pitched in with 10 points each. Cayl Carpenter, Shea Bartsch, and Taylor Millay grabbed 5 rebounds a piece. Cory Peck dished out 6 assists to go with 2 steals. Jacob Tapp and Marcus Couldridge led the Trojans with 11 points each.
2011-2012
Randy Roden is hired as the new coach of the Trojans. This was the first time in 3 years that the two Casper schools were in the same conference again. They would meet three times this season.
The first game went to the Trojans 49-38 as Kelly Walsh jumped out to a 15-3 first quarter lead and never looked back. Terry Jackson led the way with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Tim Nganga added 13 points. Jacob Tapp contributed 7 points and 4 rebounds.
The Peachbasket Game was a sluggish affair that saw the Mustangs prevail 34-32. Again, Terry Jackson led the way for the Trojans with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Tim Nganga and Jacob Tapp added 7 and 5 points each.
At the Regional Tournament, the Trojans and Mustangs met for the third time in the third/fourth place game. The Trojans came out on top 53-40 in a game that would matter for state tournament seeding purposes. Cory Peck lead all scorers with 16 points.
2012-13
The Trojans and Mustangs would meet only twice this year as NC was eliminated from post season in a loser out game at Regionals which eliminated the possibility of a post season KW-NC matchup.
In game one at the Events Center the Trojans used some good shooting and solid defense to steadily pull away in a lopsided affair. The final score was 47-27 Kelly Walsh. Beecher Strube (15) and Jacob Tapp (13) were the leading scorers for KW, while no Mustangs reached double figures.
In game two at Casper College again the Trojans were steady early and opened a small lead at half time. That lead ballooned to 45-30 with six minutes to go in the 4th quarter. A barrage of three pointers and offensive rebounds by the Mustangs closed the gap, but in the end Kelly Walsh was able to sweep the Mustangs for the first time since 1998. Kooper Adams led the way with 16 points for the Trojans in the 51-46 victory while Chandler Meeboer had 15 points for NC.
2013-14
Again, the Trojans and Mustangs only played twice during the season as the teams went in different directions in the post season. In game one at the Casper College, the Trojans pulled away in a very competitive game to win 53-42. Kooper Adams led all scorers with 16 points for the Trojans. Conner True had 14 for the Mustangs in the loss. Trojan Ethan Applegate was the only other player on either team to get into double digits (10).
Due to a scheduling error game two was played at Casper College as well. The Trojans withstood an early barrage by the Mustangs to pull away with an easy 45-28 win. In a balanced scoring effort Beecher Strube (11) and Kooper Adams (10) led the Trojans, while Conner True led the Mustangs again with 7 points.
2014-15
For the first time in 3 years the Mustangs found a way to win versus the Trojans. The 50-41 score indicated a close, defensive affair, when in reality the bigger, faster and stronger Mustangs dominated the game in most every fashion. Stevann Brown led NC with 16 pts. Mustangs Josh Harshman (10 pts, 8 rebs), Peter Bergman (7 pts, 10 rebs), Parker Browning (9 pts) and Austin Luers ( 8 pts) contributed to the win. Tanner Hilderbrand led KW with 11 pts.
The second game between the crosstown rivals was a complete opposite from the first game. The Trojans took advantage of Mustang foul troubles to dominate the Peachbasket game. The final score indicated a dominant defensive performance by the Trojans, and some lights out shooting in the 49-31 win. Tanner Hildebrand led all scorers with 16 points. Marcus Nolan and Drew Petrie both chipped in 9 points apiece. Parker Browning and Peter Bergman each had 7 for the Mustangs.
The two teams met for the final time of 2015 in the state semi finals. The Mustangs dominated the game from start to finish. The score was closer than it should have been due to some uncharacteristically poor free-throw shooting by the Mustangs. In the game, Josh Harshman scored 17 puts and had 7 rebounds to lead the balanced Mustang attack. The Trojans were lead by Marcus Nolan with 11. Cam McDaniel and Drew Petrie both contributed 10 points apiece in the loss.
2015-16
For the first time in 5 years the Trojans were swept by the Mustangs. In game one, the game was broken open early by NC and KW never recovered. The Mustangs won 52-45. Drew Switzer was dominant in many ways on the night scoring 18 points for the Mustangs, while Caleb Hett owned the paint in contributing a season high 10 points to go with 6 rebounds. Caleb Spiva chipped in 9 points and 7 rebounds from the point guard position. KW was lead by Cam Carter with 15 pts. Jaxon Hiatt chipped in 14 for the Trojans.
In game two, the tempo was slower, but the Mustangs still managed to break the game open early and keep the lead thoughout. Drew Switzer continued his unstoppable pace versus the Trojans with 20 points. No other Mustang was in double figures. For the Trojans, Cam Carter was the only player to enter double figures with 10 points.
2016-17
In game one of the 2016-17 season the young Mustangs were overwhelmed by the experienced Trojans 59-26. Three Trojans scored in double figures with Sam Marsh leading the way with 14 points, while Cam Carter added 12 and Manny N’Tula 11. Manny N’Tula had six rebounds and Jaxon Hiatt had five rebounds.
Game two was a much slower paced affair as the Trojans eventually won by twelve, 45-33. Manny N’Tula and Sam Marsh led the Trojans in scoring with 12 and 10 apiece, while Jaxon Hiatt had 8 rebounds to win the Peachbasket Trophy.
The Trojans and Mustangs met one final time at the Regional Tournament. The Trojans won a high scoring affair 69-52. Sam Marsh led the way with 23 points and Manny N’Tula added 15. Jaxon Hiatt had eight points and six rebounds, while Joel Strube contributed nine points and seven rebounds in the semi final win.
2017-18
The tide was turned this year as the young Trojans faced the more experienced Mustangs. This marked the first time in two decades that the in town games would be played at the home schools. In the first contest, at the new NC Orange Dungeon, the Trojans raced out to a huge halftime lead (32-17), but had to hold on down the stretch to win by one (42-41). Ross Padilla had 10 points for KW, while Davion McAdam contributed 6 rebounds and 5 assists.
The Peachbasket was held at a packed KWHS Gymnasium. Again the Trojans took an early lead into the halftime, Both teams scored better this time and the Trojans held the lead until the end winning 55-47. Sophomore Michael Bradley came off the bench to score 12 points to lead the Trojans.
At the regional tournament, the Trojans and Mustangs faced each other in the 3rd/4th place game. This time the Mustangs got the early lead and held on to win 46-41. The listless Trojans were lead in scoring by Ross Padilla with 18 points.
2018-19
The age and experience factors flipped again as the Trojans had a much more experienced, returning group as compared to the Mustangs. The conference alignments were changed which saw KW and NC in different conferences for the first time in nine years. That change forced the games to be played at unusual times this season. The first match up was before Christmas break at KWHS. The Trojans won in a see saw battle that saw Kelly Walsh get big leads, and then give up runs to the Mustangs. In the end, the Trojans prevailed 67-54. Davion McAdam led all scorers with 24 points, Connor Shopp chipped in 15, and Sage Coventry contributed 10 points. Cooper Quig scored 14 for the Mustangs.
The Peachbasket was held at NCHS in late February. This was a lopsided affair from the start as the Trojans won by one of the largest margins in series history. The Trojans got scoring from ten different players with Davion McAdam leading the way with 21, Kade Marsh had 15, on 5 for 5 shooting from the arc, Isaiah Wiggins had 12 points in a 70-34 win. Cooper Quig led the way for the Mustangs again with 9 points.
2019-20
In this game, played before Christmas break at NCHS, the inexperienced and short handed Trojans came from behind to find a way to win 51-46. The win was the Trojan’s seventh out of the last eight. Kelly Walsh sophomore Tyler Pacheco led all scorers with 18 points.
In the PEACHBASKET game, the Trojans dominated late with at 22-7 run to open up a 20 point lead at one point. The score ended up 52-40 as the Trojans won their 4th straight Peach Basket Trophy, and swept the Mustangs again in the season series. Ryan Swan scored 13 points for the Mustangs and Cooper Quig added 12. Michael Bradley and Isaiah Wiggins both had 12 points for the Trojans.
2020-21
In the second game of the season the Trojans and Mustangs squared off at Kelly Walsh high school. The game was a back and forth affair that saw the Mustangs prevail late in the 4th quarter 58-53. Koby Kelly led all scorers with 25 for the Mustangs, and Jace George added 10 down low. For the Trojans, Tyler Pacheco had 14 points, while Collin Boroz added 11 in the losing cause.
In the PEACHBASKET game, held at NCHS, the Trojan and Mustangs battled to a 16-16 tie at half time. But in the second half the Trojans spurted to a lead and never looked back in a 46-37 win. This was the FIFTH straight PeachBasket win for the Trojans. Tyler Pacheco led the Trojans with 18 points, and Caden Allaire chipped in 9. Ryan Swan had 13 in the losing effort.
2021-22
Again, due to being in different conferences the first KW-NC game was played very early in the season. In fact, it was the third game of the the Windy City Classic tournament. This game was played at NC. It was an ugly, sloppy affair where the Mustangs only managed three points in the second quarter. The game ended with the Trojans securing a 55-43 win. The Trojans were led in scoring by Tyler Pacheco who tallied 25 points. Gunnar Browning chipped in 11 points. The Mustangs were led by Parker Davis' 12 points.
The Peach Basket game was held at KWHS in late February. The short handed Mustangs were routed by the surging Trojans 79-50. The win marked the SIXTH straight Peach Basket Trophy win for the Trojans. The Mustangs were led by sophomore Colton Rogers who had 25 points in the loss. The Trojans were led by Davis Crilly who scored 27 points and had 11 rebounds. Tyler Pacheco had 13 points. Caden Allaire chipped in 11, and Gunnar Browning had 9 points. Zach Enyert contributed 9 points, and David DeBoer had 6 points and 5 steals.
2022-23
The first meeting was once again the first weekend of the season. The game featured a much more experienced and older squad from NC versus a very young and inexperienced KW team. The game featured the young Trojans leading early, and controlling the game, but surrendurring the lead late and losing 59-50. Kelly Walsh was lead by Isaak Mamot's 12 points, Jace Nicholls 8 rebounds, and Jack Nicholls 4 assists. Natrona was lead by guard Colton Rogers with 21 points and 10 rebounds.
The Peach Basket was held at NC. The game was re-scheduled due to a winter storm so instead of it being a Thursday evening affair it took place on a Saturday. The games was much like the first as the Trojans started hot and lead 15-3 after one quarter. NC would chip back to make it 38-41 in the fourth. This time however, the Trojans kept the lead and sealed the win 48-40. The Trojans were lead by Jayden Nicholls 14 points and brother Jace's 6 rebounds. The Mustangs were lead by Isaak Patik's 12 points and 10 rebounds.
2023-24
For the first time in 8 years the Mustangs win BOTH games versus the Trojans.
The first meeting was the opening weekend at NCHS. Natrona opened up an early lead and never let it slip away. Kelly Walsh was able to only win one of the four quarters as the older, more experienced Mustangs dominated the game in virtually every statistical category. Colten Rogers and Jael Reyes both scored 10 points in the win. Konner White added 8 in a balanced effort. For the Trojans, Mason Eager scored 10 points, while Jack Nicholls and Duncan Gillum scored 8 and 7.
The second meeting was at KWHS, and for the Peach Basket Trophy. The Mustangs prevailed 55-50 as they dominated the rebounding advantage to hold off the Trojans. Konnor White was a force down low as he scored 14 points, and secured nine rebounds. Colten Rogers and Neven Campbell both chipped in 13 points.
2024-25
The Mustangs continued their winning ways versus the Trojans as they won 45-39 in a scrappy affair. The Mustangs forced 18 KW turnovers and scored 14 points off them. Rogan Potter returned from an injury to lead the Mustangs with 21 points. Josiah Coleman chipped in 15 points and had six rebounds. Jack Nicholls led KW with 11 points in the loss.
The Trojans won the 2025 Peach Basket Trophy on the Mustangs home court. The game was a defensive battle from the tip as both teams struggled to score. At the end of one quarter the Trojans lead 9-4. By halftime they had taken a 15-9 score into the locker room. The Trojans held a commanding lead of 23-14 at the end of the 3rd quarter. The Mustangs managed to close the gap in the final quarter, but the game had already been decided before the score got close to end the contest. Mason Eager led the Trojans with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Rogan Potter led the Mustangs with 9 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists.
The Trojans and Mustangs would meet two more times in the post season. In the regional championship, the Trojans led the entire game only to have Tanner Hagar hit a game winning three at the buzzer. For the Trojans, Mason Eager had 9 points, Jack Nicholls 8, and Carter Alvar 7. Logan Atnip and Duncan Gillum led the Trojans with 4 and 3 rebounds.
In the consolation championship at the state tournament, the Mustangs jumped out to an early lead, but the Trojans came back to control the game only to see a furious fourth quarter comeback by the Mustangs force overtime. In that extra period the Mustangs outscored the Trojans eight to six to clinch the victory. Jack Nicholls led the Trojans with 13 points. Logan Atnip had 8 points and 7 rebounds. Duncan Gillum chipped in 7 points. Freshman Garret Patik led the Mustangs with 17 points, and Tanner Hagar contributed 14 points.
