Currently, a particular passion of mine is doing makeup. Makeup, is cosmetics used to enhance ones appearance. My passion began when I was about eight years old. It is meaningful to me as stage makeup, is something I wear a lot because I am a competitive dancer. I've been doing competitive dance since I was around the age of six. When I was this young, I didn't understand how to apply cosmetics. As a young child I was a very independent person. I wanted to do things by myself, even if they weren't perfect. When I tried to cake my face, it always ended up turning out extremely messy. Being a perfectionist, this wasn't allowed in my mind. Until my hand was steady enough to apply it, my mother made my young face up. To me, makeup is an art. A face is like the canvas and the makeup is the paint. I practiced, and practiced, and practiced, until I got it looking glamorous. In all cases, practice doesn't make perfect it makes better. I quickly got to the point where the makeup I did was wearable out on stage. Doing makeup isn't something I dread. I look forward to it before every competition I have. What color eyeshadow will I put on? How will I do my eyeliner? There are always different combinations I am able to play around with. I do this when I'm bored at home on a free day. Makeup isn't something I wear on an everyday basis. It has chemicals which can seep into one's skin. My father being a doctor, knows the dangers of this and gets mad whenever I wear the slightest bit of mascara. Although I get frustrated, I know the risks, and wait until competition season where I am able to put on a lot more and have fun with it!
Sephora is the world's most well known makeup supply store. The best brands are available for purchase there online, and in store. Once you step in, you may get a warm welcome of employees who will help you find your perfect product, or shade of product. I learned of the best products for me from just taking a stroll down the isles of Sephora, which I still use to this day.
