My bat-mitzvah was on May 2, 2016 at temple shaarei kodesh. First, I had a service in the morning, followed by a brunch. Then, later that night we had a small party at my house with close friends, family friends, and family. We had a DJ for a little and then a band. For dinner we had appetizers, sushi boats, and a pizza truck. Then, for dessert we had a gelato place come and serve. I hung out with my friends and family all night. It was one of the best nights of my life, I had so much fun. The next day, we had a small brunch with family from out of town. For my Bat-mitzvah my family and I went to Israel to visit family. I have been to Israel many times before but it felt different going once I had become a Bat-Mitzvah. I felt like I was officially a Jewish young adult. This day taught me so much about my culture and my traditions. When reaching and completing this day I officially became a young adult in the Jewish community. It was a huge milestone in my life, and I felt like I took a step into the adult world. My Bat-Mitzvah shaped me into the person I am today.
