PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE AND BIO:

I graduated from Thibodaux High in 1998 and from Nicholls State in 2001. I started teaching at West Thibodaux Jr. High in January 2002 and moved with the 9th graders to THS in the fall of 2002. (That is when the transition of 9th grade from Junior high to high school happened). I taught Algebra I and II at THS until March of 2012 when I was hired for the Assistant Principal position.

I am excited to increase our school spirit, academics, and communication with all stakeholders. Climate and culture are the keys to education, so I plan to build on our current efforts by adding as many positive interactions with all stakeholders as possible as well as raising the expectations to continue to grow our school in the right direction. We are currently an A school, and my goal is to definitely continue this status with high expectations in academics. I am extremely excited and honored to have the opportunity to work with the students, parents, staff, and community to make THS the best it can be. As a proud Thibodaux High graduate, I have so much passion for this school, so I am excited to continue my journey at THS.

Mrs. Oncale is a 1998 Thibodaux High School graduate. She completed her Bachelor's of Social Studies Education and Master's in Educational Leadership at Nicholls State University. Mrs. Oncale has taught American History, Economics, World Geography, and Government over her thirteen years of teaching at THS. During those years she has served in numerous leadership roles both at the school and district levels. In June of 2020, she became an Assistant Principal. It has always been her dream to teach and lead at her alma mater.

Mr. Trahan graduated from Vandebilt Catholic High School in 1996. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management from Xavier University of Louisiana in 2000. He also earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from Xavier in 2006. His certifications include Educational Leadership, Reading Specialist, Child Search Coordinator, Computer Literacy, Business Education Subjects, and Mild/Moderate Special Education. Mr. Trahan began his teaching career at Assumption High School in Napoleonville where he taught for 3 years. He taught at Ellender Memorial High School in Houma for one semester. From there, he moved to North P.A.S.S. where he taught for 9 1/2 years and then served as the North P.A.S.S. Site Leader for 2 years. He was appointed Administrative Assistant at Thibodaux High School in 2017.

Mr. Walls has a ten year career in education and has been apart of Jefferson, Terrebonne, and Lafourche Parishes. Mr. Walls was an English teacher before transitioning into an administrative role. He also served as Master Teacher and taught both middle and high school. Before coming to Thibodaux High school, Mr. Walls served a principal of Lockport Middle School. He is very excited to return back to high school and help facilitate the growth of Thibodaux High School. He is also a proud Nicholls State Alumni and Lafourche Parish Resident.

Mrs. Roussel is a 1984 graduate of Riverside Academy. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education with a minor in Biology from Nicholls State University in 1990. She earned a certification in Adaptive Physical Education from Louisiana Tech in 1992 and her Master's degree in Educational Leadership from University of Texas Arlington in 2013. Mrs. Roussel taught Adaptive PE in Assumption parish for two years. She taught and coached at West Thibodaux Junior High and was also the Athletic Director for one and half years. She was transferred to Thibodaux High school in January 1995 where she taught Science, Health, and Physical Education as well as coached Basketball, Softball, and Volleyball and served as a Fall Athletic Director for 1 year. Mrs. Roussel was appointed Administrative Assistant in January 2020.
