Makerspace

In addition to books, our library also offers hands on activities to promote the STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering, math) in our Makerspace area. Students are encouraged to come and create during school with teacher permission. 

3D Printing

The district has purchased a 3D printer for each campus specifically for student use. Our 3rd - 5th grade students are encouraged to use this printer, the only catch is that they can only print something that they designed themselves. We use the website TinkerCad to design. See below for more details: 

To log into TinkerCad, find the link by going to your Library Google Classroom. Remember, this is only for 3rd - 5th grade.

Below we have what are referred to as the "rules" for 3D printing. Before a design is accepted for print, the students will need to make sure all the rules are being followed and make any adjustments.

***This is a self-guided, self-paced extracurricular activity. If students are not willing to put in the work to teach themselves the program, they will not be able to use the 3D printer at this time. However, if a student has a question or gets stuck, please see the librarian. Once a student has completed a design, they must let Ms. Hawkins know. It will then be checked and any modifications will be discussed with the student before printing.
