Jim Satrom, a 1971 Grand Forks Central graduate, earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology from The University of North Dakota before founding PS Garage Doors and PS Industries. PS Industries marked its 50th year of business in 2024 and has grown from a local specialty contractor into a design and manufacturing company that now sells its products worldwide, working with both private and public entities like Xcel Energy, The United Nations, and NASA.  PS Industries now employs over 100 people in the greater Grand Forks area.

Jim also serves his community by participating on many boards and associations, including the Community Foundation of Grand Forks, the Grand Forks Builders and Traders, and the Grand Forks Curling Club.
