Art 1

Art 1 - 1 semester 7th and 8th grade combo

Art 1 is a beginning to intermediate level course that emphasizes 2D design concepts and terminology, as well as  technical skills in drawing, painting, color theory, and mixed media artwork. Students will document their progress in a digital portfolio, with photographs and written reflections about their work. Students will also discuss philosophies, and historical traditions in art. The suggested donation for this course is $20. (This course is aligned with the California Visual Arts Standards, and the National Core Arts Standards.)
