My name is Kent Ezell. My wife Reba and I started Faith Journey to provide a tool for Christian school teachers, youth pastors/Sunday school teachers, and parents to raise children who are fully devoted followers of Jesus. Together we have over 40 years in Christian education and church ministry.
We are saddened by the fact that 45-50% of children who are raised in a Christian home will leave the faith (Sticky Faith Guide for Your Family, 2014). To us, this is a scary thought. Unfortunately, this is our reality.
We cannot take for granted that our children are going to simply accept Jesus and live for Him.
At Faith Journey, we believe that building a child's faith is the Prime Directive of a parent. A parent does ask contributors like Christian school teachers, Sunday school teachers, and youth pastors to help execute their Prime Directive.
Faith Journey is a web and mobile application that focuses on documenting and reflecting on a child's faith journey. It is about capturing faith formation moments, which we call faith footprints, with pictures and videos. These faith footprints are then put into a secure digital album. Faith Journey also allows teachers, youth pastors, parents, and students to reflect on the faith footprints.
At Faith Journey, we believe that by having students engage more intentionally with these faith moments, reflecting on them, and then having them in one place to look back on and see how God has been working in their lives will help children own their faith and look back to God's faithfulness in their lives as they become adults and start to question if He is real.
