Hello, my name is Daniel Santhiapillai, and I am a senior attending Dublin High School. I am part of the Biomedical Academy at DHS and involved in clubs such as CSF, Create for Kids, and HOSA. I have always been interested in science, but it was during the COVID-19 pandemic that I saw how health professionals in my community made a tangible impact, which inspired me to pursue pathological science, where understanding disease at the molecular level directly informs diagnosis and treatment. I further explored this interest through a dental internship, where I assisted with procedures, observed patient care, and learned how biological knowledge and communication work together in a clinical setting. I was born and raised in California and have lived in Dublin for most of my life, and I have always been curious about how the human body functions and responds to different stimuli. I hope to reach my future goals by continuing to learn and grow as both a student and an individual. Outside of academics, I enjoy playing the piano and saxophone and competing on my school’s cross country and track teams.
