Hello and Welcome!
Hello and Welcome!
I believe that language learning should be meaningful, interactive, and enjoyable. My teaching philosophy centers on creating a warm, supportive environment where students feel confident to use English in real-life situations. I focus on making lessons engaging through the use of songs, games, chants, and interactive activities that cater to students with varying English proficiency levels. I also value co-teaching and collaboration, as working closely with Taiwanese teachers allows us to combine our strengths to better support student learning.
In my current role as a Foreign English Teacher, I work full-time, five days a week, for eight hours a day. I co-teach 20 periods per week alongside a Taiwanese English teacher, where we introduce and review lessons and engage students in various classroom activities, such as vocabulary building, sentence structure practice, songs, chants, games, and interactive tasks. Beyond classroom teaching, I assist in organizing and supporting school-wide activities, including Winter Camp, Summer Camp, and Reading Competitions. Every Thursday, I help organize and co-lead the English Club for different grade levels, providing students with additional opportunities to enhance their English knowledge in a fun and interactive way. I also prepare lesson plans independently and collaborate closely with my co-teacher to ensure the lessons meet the needs of our students and align with the curriculum.
Teaching abroad is an incredible experience, filled with opportunities for growth and cultural exchange. However, balancing work and personal life is just as important as success in the classroom. One way I maintain that balance is by exploring Taiwan’s beautiful landscapes and vibrant culture during my free time. Traveling not only helps me relax and recharge but also deepens my connection to the country I now call home. In this post, I’ll share how I manage my responsibilities as a Foreign English Teacher in Taiwan while making time to travel, unwind, and enjoy life outside of work.
