Educator Introduction

Hello and welcome to the personal website of Ben David Rose. I have taught at seven elementary and junior high schools in five counties since arriving in Taiwan in 2010. I graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in education in 2009 and spent my first year as a teacher working with ESL students in a Structure English Immersion (SEI) classroom in Tucson, Arizona before moving to Taiwan. My teaching philosophy centers around the importance of reading and comprehensible input (CI) being used to help English Language Learners (ELLs) acquire language in a learning setting that is compelling and well-structured. Since 2018, I have focused my teaching specifically on the methods of Story-Listening (SL) and Guided Self-Selected Reading (GSSR).
