The best place to look for student grades is PowerSchool, as those are grades that have already been entered in the gradebook. Google classroom also shows the grade earned on each assignment, however sometimes different assignments are weighted differently, so this is not the best place to look to get a sense of the overall grade.
Please see my "Teaching Schedule" page for a simplified schedule. Students are required to attend synchronous learning during periods 1-4 on both A days and B days. Additionally, students are required to attend "Student Wellness" and "Community Meeting" classes live.
Attendance will not be taken during clubs, "FLEX Learning Time" or "Office Hours" - those are optional (though teachers may invite students to FLEX Time, and it is recommended that they attend for extra support).
FLEX Time is additional academic support (much like after school tutoring when we were attending school in the building). Students may be invited by the teacher if they score poorly on an assessment, or they may choose on their own to attend, if they feel they need additional instruction or reteaching on recent topics. FLEX Time is open to all students in a particular class period; due to potentially high numbers of student attendance, academic support will be focussed on content learned within the previous week.
Office Hours are dedicated time built into the schedule for teachers to "meet" with students and/or parents individually (usually in regards to academic or behavioral concerns). Office Hours meetings should be requested via email or using the request form on this website, and a unique meeting code will be provided.
Although it is possible to sign up for guardian emails in Google Classroom, those emails are sent only once per week; they may not help you to make sure that your student is completing and submitting work daily. If you wish to see the Google Classroom from your student's perspective, I recommend obtaining your child's mycsp login information and checking regularly.
