My goal is to help you grow, not just as math students, but as life-long learners. Learning doesn’t stop after school ends; it’s something you carry with you everywhere. Math is more than just a subject to pass, it’s a language we use to solve problems, understand patterns, and make sense of the world around us.
This year, we’ll be working with the i-Ready curriculum to build a strong foundation in math.
Here’s a preview of what we’ll cover:
Unit 1: Proportional Relationships: Ratios, Rates, and Circles
Unit 2: Numbers and Operations: Add and Subtract Rational Numbers
Unit 3: Numbers and Operations: Multiply and Divide Rational Numbers
Unit 4: Algebraic Thinking: Expressions, Equations, and Inequalities
Unit 5: Proportional Reasoning: Percents and Statistical Samples
Unit 6: Geometry: Solids, Triangles, and Angles
Unit 7: Probability: Theoretical Probability, Experimental Probability, and Compound Events
In my class, everyone is capable of success. Some of these topics might feel tough at first, but that’s part of the process. We’re going to learn together, support each other, and use mistakes as opportunities to grow. I’ll make mistakes too—and that’s okay! By the end of the year, my hope is that you feel more confident, more capable, and ready to take on whatever math throws your way.
