Can I have both an onstage and offstage role?
No, you must choose whether you are interviewing or auditioning.
Does it cost to be part of the show?
No. We will be charging audience members to purchase tickets for the show.
Will there be understudies?
We are going to double cast the main roles:
Matilda, Trunchbull, Miss Honey, Mr. and Mrs. Wormwood, Bruce
Each performer will perform the same amount of shows.
What do I need to prepare for my audition?
A song (see list provided) and A scene (see scenes provided)
Dancing is not part of the audition.
What if my family plans a trip? Can I still be part of the show?
The earlier you know your travel dates, the more we are able to accommodate your absense.
*You must be available for the two weeks leading up to show week.
What if I get overwhelmed with too many things in my schedule? Can I step away from my role?
Of course - if you find you are doing too much, our door is always open to have those conversations.
How many people are you casting?
There are 19 speaking roles.
We will likely cast between 35 - 45 people.
When do tickets go on sale?
We are aiming to have online ticket sales go live on January 1st, 2026.
When do the Design & Build and Audience Engagement Teams start?
Sometime in October, after rehearsals have started.
