Departments

Welcome to the Math Department, where our courses form a cohesive three-course sequence: Mathematics I, Mathematics II, and Mathematics III, aligned with the California Common Core Standards for Integrated Mathematics. In Math I, designed for grades 9-10, students delve into functions, linear functions, sequences, exponential functions, systems of linear equations, statistical analysis, mathematical modeling, and coordinate and transformational geometries. Math II, recommended for grades 10-11, builds on this foundation, exploring laws of exponents, quadratic functions, probability, trigonometry, and applying functions to solve contextual problems. Math III, tailored for grades 11-12, delves into the complex number system, polynomials, rational expressions, trigonometric functions, conics, and advanced topics in probability and data interpretation. Each course prepares students for real-world problem-solving and builds a strong mathematical foundation for future academic endeavors. Successful completion of each prerequisite course is recommended for progression through the sequence. Join us in unlocking the world of mathematics and developing critical problem-solving skills.

Welcome to the Science Department, where our courses inspire curiosity and a deep understanding of the natural world. Beginning with Biology, suitable for grades 9-12 and requiring no specific prerequisites, students explore life and its processes, spanning molecular and cellular biology, genetics, and environmental sciences. Moving to Chemistry, recommended for grades 10-12 with successful completion of Math I, students delve into the composition, structure, and interaction of matter, exploring the energy involved in these relationships. Emphasizing real-life applications, Chemistry CP integrates algebra skills to interpret fundamental concepts and processes of chemical reactions, utilizing laboratory experiences, text assignments, and interactive lecture-discussions. Join us on a journey of scientific exploration, where each course equips students with a solid foundation for future scientific inquiry and understanding.
