I am deeply passionate about technology, education, and research. I started my career in the Tech industry in 2017 when I moved from my country of origin, Colombia, to Canada to pursue higher education. I completed an advanced diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology at Seneca College, from which I graduated with honours in 2020. After that, I worked in the industry for over 3 years before starting my current degree at York University in 2024.
Presently, I aim to get involved in research and eventually move to Graduate Education with a Master's and a PhD. My current areas of interest are Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Quantum Computing.
I have done some independent learning and recently completed the Google Machine Learning crash course for developers. As a side project, I built a language translation tool using Hugging Face's cloud-based ML translation model’s API combined with a web interface using JavaScript. The interface is interactive and dynamic, and takes audio input, which gets translated into the language of preference of the user in real time, while being displayed on the screen.
Apart from the academic side, I work part-time as a bartender on the weekends, and love to play sports as well. I am a big soccer fan and try to play regularly while leaving some time to work out in the gym. While these activities may seem irrelevant, they have helped me learn how to work under pressure and how important it is to communicate clearly and concisely when working in a team environment.
Additionally, I love to travel, meet new people and cultures, and try new food from different parts of the world, although Latinoamerican food continues to be my favourite so far!
I am always looking forward to expanding my network. If you would like to connect, you can find me on:
