In this video from BBC News, it talks about how AI-generated images are created through a large database of artwork from all over the internet without the permission of artists.
Professor Ben Zhao from the University of Chicago has developed a solution to this problem through Glaze.
Zhao and his team took advantage of the difference in perception in humans and machine learning models to create Glaze.
By Glazing the artwork, it creates changes microscopic to the human eye but will dramatically alter how a machine would see the image. Through this process, it prevents AI from stealing artwork from artists.
