Here at Artists Against AI, we offer a wide variety of services and resources to help educate the masses about the dangers that come from the use and misuse of AI in the arts, as well as what they can do to help make a difference.
Learning Objectives:
Learn how to recognize AI in image
Have the tools to protect your own artwork from being used to train AI models
At the end should have an understanding of why it's harmful to artists to use AI
Learning Activities:
1) Spot the AI Challenge Participants will be taken through a set of mixed images, both AI-generated and those created by human artists, and try to identify which is which. After each image, a brief explanation will be provided to allow learners to recognize common visual traits in AI-generated images.
2) Protect Your Art Workshop A step-by-step guide interactive tutorial instructing artists on how to safeguard their work on the internet. This includes using watermarks, adjusting metadata, and understanding the basics of copyright to prevent their work from being utilized for training AI models without permission.
3) Mini Case Studies Learners will analyze short examples of real artists whose work was taken by AI companies without consent. Each example has a discussion question to encourage critical thinking regarding ownership, consent, and ethical AI behaviors.
4) Story Share board A virtual platform in which participants are able to contribute their own experiences or thoughts regarding AI and the arts. This exercise promotes community and inspires participants to interact with one another via shared issues and personal experiences.
5) Petition Participation After engaging with the material, participants shall be required to sign the website's petition calling for equal treatment of creatives during the age of artificial intelligence. They shall also reflect on the worth of working together in compelling ethical change in the creative sector.
