Purpose:
This instructional unit aims to help students learn about five geographical regions of Georgia and their habitats.
Unit Objective:
Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of Georgia's unique geography, the animals and plants that inhabit Georgia's five regions, their special adaptations, and the intricate web of life that sustains these ecosystems.
learning targets:
1). Third Grade students given successful completion of all modules will be able to identify all five of the Georgia Regions with 75% accuracy.
2) Third Grade students, when presented with a set of habitats and organisms as examples, will construct an explanation of how external features and adaptations (camouflage, hibernation, migration, mimicry) of animals allow them to survive in their habitat, achieving at least 80% accuracy
3) When provided with web-based learning resources, students will be able to identify the similarities and differences in the A) Plants B) Animals, and C) Habitats for all five Georgia regions with 75% accuracy.
4) When provided with a web-based learning resource, third-grade students will identify at least five plants native to each of five Georgia geographic regions with 75% accuracy.
5) When provided with a web-based learning resource, third-grade students will identify at least five animals/wildlife native to each of the five Georgia geographic regions with 75% accuracy.
