Objective
The students in the 4th and 5th grade Book Club will read Front Desk by Kelly Yang. This novel has been selected as a contender for the Global Read Aloud for 2019. The students will participate in a Q & A where each student will post a question on Padlet for the other class to answer. Each student will respond to one question from the other class on Padlet. To promote global collaboration, the teacher will link the Padlet to the Global Read Aloud Facebook page for other students also reading Front Desk to respond to.
Timeline of Project
The schedule for reading the book has been broken down by the creators of the Global Read Aloud to have students in this age bracket keep the same pace as their global partners. (Each week will mirror the week before, but detailed notes have been left in case there is a sub needing to run Book Club)
