A student success plan is a comprehensive document that provides parents with essential information about their child's academic progress, including local and state test scores, attendance records, and their current class schedule, all aimed at tracking and supporting their educational journey.
In the next few days, you will receive a Student Success Plan from West Clermont Middle School from the email address Notification@brightarrow.com. In order to view the letter, you must enter your student’s six-digit student ID. The letters will also be accessible within your student's portal on Powerschool, ensuring easy reference and access to this information at any time.
Should you happen to notice any discrepancies or have any questions regarding the content of the letters, we encourage you to get in touch with your student's counselor.
On October 23rd, 28th, and 29th 6th grade students will participate in child abuse workshops facilitated by trained staff from the Council on Child Abuse of Southern Ohio (COCA). COCA provides workshops to over 20,000 children per year in various school districts and settings including Cincinnati Public Schools, the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, Northwest School District, Norwood City Schools, Forest Hills Schools, Oak Hills Schools, charter schools, and many others.
Ohio’s 134th General Assembly enacted Senate Bill 288 which updated the prescribed curriculum for health education, adding requirements related to child sexual abuse prevention, dating violence prevention and sexual violence prevention. The law includes requirements for student instruction, parent and legal guardian notification and training for school personnel. Additional information regarding this law can be found here.
COCA staff specialize in delivering age-appropriate presentations on the topics of preventing child abuse, bullying, and dating violence. Each presentation is modified to best suit your child’s grade and level of understanding and includes relevant activities and videos to help facilitate interactive learning and discussion.
Younger students (grades K-2) will learn the difference between safe and unsafe touches. Older students (grades 3-8) will learn to recognize the types of child abuse (Physical, Verbal, Sexual, Emotional, and Neglect). All students will learn the importance of telling a trusted adult if child abuse is suspected.
All students will be able to speak with one of our trained staff following the classroom presentation. This is a time for them to ask questions or express concerns in a one-on-one conversation. This portion of the program is optional.
Please take the time to talk to your child about the program and discuss any questions or comments she/he might have about the subject. Add your personal thoughts and rules, too.
If you have questions or concerns about the content of COCA’s presentations, please visit the FAQ page of their website at www.cocachild.org. You can also reach out to the program coordinator or program assistant at the Council on Child Abuse using the following contact information:
Megan Stagge (Program Coordinator) at (513) 993-7169
Mikayla Laney (Program Assistant) at (513) 684-7976.
All students will participate in this program unless they have a written note indicating that you do NOT give permission. To opt out, please complete this form, or contact Robin Hater for assistance at hater_r@my.westcler.org.
October 17th, 2:15-4:00.
Tickets will be sold at lunch outside the North Cafe and in the Innovation Hub for the South Cafe and MPR for $5 admission wristbands, cash only. Pre-sold admission wristbands and party packages can also be picked up at this time. Students can ONLY purchase admission for themselves (or for a friend that is CURRENTLY WITH THEM). Students who have accumulated 5 or more suspension days are not eligible to purchase tickets.
The admission band will be applied to the student at the time of purchase. Students must wear the band until the dance takes place. If a student removes the band, it cannot be replaced, and they will not be allowed entry to the dance. This policy is in place to prevent students from buying bands for those who are not permitted to attend. If a student is unable to wear the band overnight, they are encouraged to return on the day of the dance to purchase admission, as admissions will not sell out. Additionally, pre-purchased admission bands must be applied at the time of pickup.
If your student is attending the dance on October 17th, please keep in mind that they must be there to pick up promptly at 4:00 pm.
Student Last Name A-R: Enter and exit for pick up through Amelia Olive Branch Entrance. (pink and yellow lines on map-loop around and exit as noted by the blue line)
Student Last Name S-Z: Enter and exit for pick up through Clough Pike Entrance. (orange line on map)

Beginning in September, we are updating the way we handle Lost and Found items:
Student Access: Each month, items will be displayed in the South Cafe for students to check for any lost belongings.
Parent Access: On the last Monday of each month, remaining items will be moved to the South Entrance Lobby (7th & 8th grade) for parents to look through.
Please note: After the final parent viewing, all unclaimed items will be donated to local organizations.
We encourage students and parents to check regularly to help recover lost belongings before they are donated.
** Please label your child's belongings also, so we can easily return items to your child.**
Each year the state of Ohio requires all incoming 7th graders to receive the Tdap and Meningococcal (A,C,W,Y) immunizations on or before the first day of school (ORC 3313.67 and 3313.671).
Our School Based Health Center, the Wolves' Wellness Center, is available for your child to receive these immunizations, as is The Clermont County Public Health Department.
If you need information about making an appointment with either of these options or if you have any questions, please contact the middle school clinic.
At West Clermont, we know that every day in school counts toward your child’s success. That’s why we’re part of the Stay in the Game! Attendance Network, a statewide initiative focused on keeping students engaged and learning. Through our partnership with FC Cincinnati, we are teaming up to highlight the importance of strong attendance and keeping students on track. When students miss fewer than 9 days in a school year, they’re more likely to succeed academically, build stronger friendships, and feel confident about their future. Together, let’s make attendance a priority because showing up is the first step to winning, on and off the field.
To get students excited about coming to school there will be a spirit week from September 22-26th. You can find all the details in this SPIRIT WEEK FLYER.
Please share this great opportunity with anyone you believe would be a great addition to this team….
