Meet the needs of the WHOLE student, ensuring they have the confidence, tools and abilities to experience personal and academic success
Supports transition points – elementary to secondary, grade 10 to senior level courses, secondary to post-secondary experiences
Works closely with individual students, classroom teachers, community partners and SS Team members to ensure students earn all credits to graduate
Identifies the at-risk students, initiates program changes, advocates for students and tracks academic progress
Often times there is a need to be creative with timetables, workload, co-op and other alternative educational settings
Help students develop effective work and study habits
Work with teachers to create behavior/improvement plans for students who are struggling
Track progress of all SS students throughout the semester at progress reports, midterm reporting and final report
Advocating for student needs – this may include referrals to guidance/CYC/Social Worker/administration for assistance

The Student Success Teacher works most closely with individual students, classroom teachers, community partners and Student Success Team members to ensure students earn the credits necessary to graduate. The Student Success Teacher identifies the at-risk students, initiates program changes, advocates for students and tracks progress.
