After analyzing the Employee Satisfaction survey with HR at American SteelCo., we identified 5 areas of improvement that are impeding employee satisfaction.
We recommend two main areas of change to combat this area of dissatisfaction.
Firstly, lunch breaks should happen within a wider range of time. Instead of lunch being the same hour every day, employees should have the flexibility to form their daily schedule for themselves by having a range of time to be able to take their lunch.
Secondly, work hours should be changed. We recommend allowing employees to be able to work the same amount of hours, but at different times that fit their schedule more personally. If it fits their job description, employees should also have the option of working remotely. PTO and time-off should replace monetary rewards for working overtime. These changes will give employees more autonomy thus giving them more satisfaction in their work schedule.
We recommend creating a position to schedule work and workloads to help combat some of the unreasonable workloads. This position will not only make sure that laborers do not get assigned more than they can handle, but also make sure that efforts are equally shared.
American SteelCo. should offer cross-training opportunities. This will help to break up the monotony of everyday tasks and show that American SteelCo is invested in its employees learning new skills.
Weekly newsletters, with links to surveys, should be sent out to allow employees a voice in company decisions. The newsletters will include information about upcoming events, company changes, new policies, and more to provide transparency and keep employees informed of company business.

American SteelCo. should hold employee and family events. These events will provide an opportunity for people to mingle and get to know one another and create unity in the labor force. Social media outlets should also be utilized to create branding for how the company culture is and highlight the company's achievements.
