Each assessment will be evaluated based on the provided rubric and awarded a grade. Many times it will be complete/incomplete.
I do our best to grade all of your submissions within a week of their due date.
If you submit an assignment late, it might take me a extra cycles to grade. The philosphy here is that if you turn in an assignment at your convenience, I will grade it at my convenience.
Note that every assignment has a timeline.
You have up to two weeks after the due date to turn in assignments. Assignments that are turned in up to a week after the due date will have a maximum grade of 75. Two weeks after, the maximum grade will be 50. If you were in the hospital or some such thing, let's discuss.
With each of the activities and assessments, I have provided a rubric to help clearly explain and detail our expectations for a completed submission.
This is particularly true for InQuizitive and our WW Norton material. These rubrics help to keep us honest and transparent. It is one step to achieving greater equity in our teaching. Following our rubrics as I assess your submissions, I aim to reduce my bias and remove any hidden assumptions about academic cultures, such as punctuation, spelling, paragraph structures, etc.
