Frequently Asked Questions: Students
- How does my Supervisor get to PebblePad?
If your Supervisor has lost their link, pass them this: https://v3.pebblepad.co.uk/login/hallam. They need to select the 'I have a guest account' option on that page. They can also reset their password there any time they need to.
- Do I need to share my ePAD with my College Tutor?
No, your College Tutor will automatically have access via the ATLAS link on your Blackboard module site. (Work Based Supervisors do not have access to Blackboard).
- I've updated my ePAD but my Supervisor says they can't see any changes!
When this happens, it's usually because a recovered version of your ePAD has been created recently, and you've accidentally carried on working on that version.
You just need to copy and paste your work across to your original version, then delete the recovery to avoid any further confusion.
You shouldn't share the recovered version with your supervisor because this version won't have active assessor fields. Always stick to the original.
Make sure you (and your supervisors!) save and close the window when you finish working on your ePAD to avoid the chance of recovered copies springing up in your Assets.
Frequently Asked Questions: Work-Based Supervisors
- I don't think I've had an email with my log-in details?
Don't worry. The initial email from PebblePad can often get caught in spam filters. All it tells you is that your username is your email address, then directs you to the log-in page to set up your own password. Rather than hunting for the email, you can just follow the steps below:
Select 'I have a guest account'
Click the 'forgot password' option when the guest account is selected.
Enter your email and hit 'reset'. This will trigger an immediate password token to be sent to you, which is valid for 24 hours. If you haven't received that email within 5 minutes, please get in touch with pebblehelp@shu.ac.uk for advice.
You can then return to the login screen and enter your credentials. Could you make sure you always choose the 'guest account' option (the 'IT account at this organisation' option will only recognise Hallam staff and student details)?
Remember, your username will always be your email address.
- I already use PebblePad with students from elsewhere, do I still need to an account for Hallam?
Yes, you need to be set up with access to the Sheffield Hallam PebblePad environment, even if you already use PebblePad with students from other education providers. Once we've created your account, you can merge it with your different account(s) to manage everything under one login.
- How do I get a Hallam PebblePad account?
Please get in touch with the College, who will submit an account request for you. They will need your full name and your work email address. Sheffield Hallam staff create accounts in bulk once a week.
- My student has shared their work with me, but I can't seem to type into the assessor fields?
Check your dashboard - there needs to be a blue 'Assessment' box under the link to their work. If you see a green 'Shared' box, your student has chosen the wrong sharing option - this version will always be 'read-only.' They just need to re-share using the 'share with an external assessor' option.
