Conference delegates will be required to choose breakout sessions in advance. Some sessions may run more than once to accommodate more delegates being able to attend. A provisional programme will be available in due course.
Throughout the day there will be a mixture of speakers, skills workshops, development sessions and the opportunity to network.
There will also be an exhibition area of stands featuring companies, organisations, and local NHS trusts.

This session will be a discussion of the work done by ODPs in relation to the AHP Critical Care Capability Framework, how it relates to the future practice of ODPs with the critical care environment, and why the framework was developed.
In this session, Mike will explain the future direction of the College of Operating Department Practitioners given the transition from the trade union UNISON. Mike will also highlight a number of achievements the Professional Body has accomplished since Operating Department Practitioners became regulated in 2004.
Two of our speakers will be presenting a case for and against a statement relating to our profession and role. There will then be opportunity to question each further, before delegates cast their judgement.
Sean and Chris will be covering how ODP's became involved within the retrieval service in the place of clinical perfusionists. They will be covering a brief history of the role and current retrieval process. They will then explore what the future holds for organ retrievals and the role ODPs/retrieval practitioners could potentially play in this.
This session will look at different emergency procedures in Military medicine. These will include surgical airway, IO access, and essential equipment layout to operate in high stressed environments.
This session is ideal for anyone interested in completing an elective placement abroad. The session will have a short presentation and then be a facilitated Q&A session on Alice and Amelia's experience of undertaking an elective placement in Muhimbilli Hospital, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. They will touch on the organisation involved in the trip as well as insights into the theatre environment in Tanzania.
This session will cover Tom's career as an ED Practitioner and now as an ACP. It will discuss his career path and the highs and lows of an ED career.
This will be a presentation on how ODP's can go from the Operating Theatres to working in an operational capacity at an organisational level.
