This session will explore the impact of statutory regulation on the ODP profession. Finally trends and data will be used to examine the implications for recruitment and retention of ODPs.
When introduced in 2017, it was envisaged that the reforms would create additional student places on pre-registration healthcare programmes, improve the quality and reduce the attrition rates on these programmes. In reality, applications for AHP (including ODP) and Nursing programmes have fallen by 32%. In this presentation, Mike examines the impact of the reforms on ODP programmes and examines what the future might hold for ODP pre-registration education and workforce planning.
