Thank you for showing an interest in ODP research and growing our community of practice. We welcome all levels of ODP, from student to those who are experienced in research, across all areas of practice. You do not need to be a member of CODP to join in with sessions.
After our first two meetings we felt we would benefit from having a central point for people to find information on the group's activity, upcoming dates and zoom links for meetings rather than circulating flyers each time. We still have a flyer (feel free to circulate, print and pin up in your staff room to advertise), but it directs ODPs here for further information. The aim is that this site will be temporary until we have some 'official' permanent space, hopefully via the new CODP website, but interaction with this site will help inform how we develop future content. Please bear with us whilst we add to content based on your feedback.
The group was formed in November 2023 by Dr Adele Nightingale and Victoria Cadman to offer the opportunity for likeminded ODP's to meet to discuss and support each other in relation to research activity, and grow research within the profession. This area of practice is often overlooked, and ODPs are under represented within this pillar of practice (HEE, 2023). Part of the group's aim is to help enable growth by developing collaborations and activity by providing a support network to do so.
If you are happy to do so, please introduce yourself and your research interests on the padlet below by clicking on the pink + to 'pin' you on the map.

We know that embarking on undertaking research or scholarly activity, or developing initial experience further can be daunting. Sometimes you may feel that you don't know where to start. Members of our group are willing to support people where possible in terms of sharing experiences and subject/methods expertise and providing guidance.Â
