Attendance and Absence

It is a requirement of the apprenticeship that you attend all sessions and that this is monitor. SHU uses a system called study goals (JISC). You need to log onto this via myhallam or the SHUgo app. At the beginning of a session you will be given a code that you then enter into the JISC system. If this code doesn't work for you then please let the lecturer know or you will be marked absent.

If you are unable to attend a taught session you must contact the module leader, person taking the session and your academic advisor. As you are employed you must also tell your employer that you are not attending University. You must complete this form to report your absence.

If you have a planned absence e.g. a funeral, hospital appointment etc then please give the teaching team as much notice as possible.

Absence on Placement

In addition for apprentices you must also contact your employer if absence on placement
